Hats off to Weststigersbob who has already equalled the highest weekly score of all last season, scoring an impressive 8 points in the opening round, and it's expectedly all very tight at this early stage. Oh well I thought there maybe some surprises given it was the first match of the season, but really it went as "experts" expected apart from the Watford result. Prolly should have been a bit more safe with my pics instead of picking as a punter in the bookies. Only way is up for this early wooden spooner! Well, man, this is but a long race. You obviously missed one easy Liverpool win or else you do be tied with Dr Krippen who is reigning champ and had one of the best prediction seasons last year that I have ever seen anyone have. My belief is that predicting for surprises pays off in formats which have bonus points for scoreline, first goal scorer etc. This format is much simpler and in fact more interesting because it keeps you in the competition till the end. Also, this format pays off for predicting as per logic. I wouldn't bet against Man City till they lose 2 in a row or play Liverpool on the road.

oh and I thought I would see Chelsea vs Man U today but only that the barber shop I went to made me wait about 2 hours. But glad I didn't get to see what seems like was a one sided contest. I hate Man U anyway so good that I missed it anyway.

I'm up one place on alphabetical order Typical, the two teams I hate most on the planet let me down. I could kick myself for not picking Villa to get beat, I really should be picking them (in hope) to lose every game, same with Wolves, but that's a road to the wooden spoon so I went for a draw and win respectively! Prat! Well done Westy Bob

I am glad I was right about Man U draw. The best result of the week was courtesy of Spurs.

Typical - the week when I should have stayed with the unexpected results line of thinking and play safe - it goes the other way This is why I don't bet on football, stick to the nags me. Made a couple of hundred today as it happens. Happy days

And it was very nearly a double-whammy on the upsets for Nutsberry as he predicted the draw at Old Trafford but a very late Palace pot foiled him. Unlucky.

TAG. You and Zos seem to be untaggable at the moment for some reason, so this is to alert you that the new table will be up imminently.

Bob is falling like a concrete boot at the moment. I've had nowhere to fall since the off, mate. I am the proverbial bottom feeder. But a couple of decent weeks can make a lot of difference. Look at Nutsberry. Thanks for posting your tourney chat here, by the way.

6 minutes in at 0-0 is okay, brah, you're in. (Liverpool being made to sweat in this one by half time) Tunaman09

I have changed my Chelsea Brighton pick from draw to Home win for Chelsea.
I had copied entire thing from Nutsberry and only thought about making changes to teams in the lower half.
Although I wouldn't be surprised if Chelsea draw or lose that game.

Typical, I have been under rating Bournemouth all season, so finally I pick them to win and they go draw! Conversely I have been over rating Everton and they have cost me every week until this week where we simply had to back them to lose.

If I remember rightly OffTheBoatPsycho I was one of the bottom two players who were 'relegated' last season (the other was Mr Furious) But as if by magic here we both are again newly promoted. I think the top 4 players got Champions League spots with the next three getting Europa League status. Of course it's all virtual but gives added incentive to finish that bit higher during the run-in. Good luck with your Everton pick, they are favourites for the game. For some reason hitchcockthelegend Everton are favourites with every firm against Burnley, and I'm trying to find out why. The Toffees are as short as 7/5 (Bet365) for the win with Burnley as big as 19/10 (Various) Burnley sit 11th and haven't lost in their last 3 EPL outings (W-D-D) while Everton sit 15th with a W-L-L in their last three league games. And of course the game is at Burnley. There's something I'm missing here about those odds. Team news/injuries is normal with Burnley having just two out and Everton three (although one of those, Walcott, should be available following his collision with the ball last week) The bookies aren't going to put me off and I may go the Burnley win or the draw. Cheers sandgrownun there were some good scores, with AJ also potting nine. Best of luck this week with your own picks.
