Come on guys....everyone knows that patriot that tried to join the War by any means and was given the chance by scientists who rated his his bravery and integrity over that of more physically capable men and when he did gain his power insisted he be in the field rather than be a figurehead, is someone that should be looked down on....I mean, he is not for example a true pillar of society, like a pissed of rich vigilante who is mentally scarred by the death of his parents. Are you talking about Iron Man or Batman?

Are you talking about Iron Man or Batman? sostie just got owned! And I was just having a bit of fun at sosties' expense.
This wasn't in any way, shape or form a dig at Iron Man, Batman or sostie.
You just owned yourself...

Are you talking about Iron Man or Batman? sostie just got owned! No, I would have got owned if I was defending Stark. You struggle with this internet thing a lot don't you. Now if you like I could go back to every time you got "owned"...and trust me it would take a veeery long time. You probably hold the record. Thing is, most people don't bother with posting "just got owned" comments because they are not pathetic little boys who don''t actually know when to use the term correctly. Shall I do that? It would certainly ressurrect quite a few threads wouldn't it. Everyone could once again wallow in the greatness of DC-Fan's past wisdom.

They had him doing public relations gigs even after he took the serum. He earned his accolades in the field. Watch the movie, dumbass.

You're the only one that looks at these films from these angles, putting this much effort into trying to find negativity when there isn't any to be found. It's a really strange obsession you have. That's clearly not what happened in the film. Didn't he undergo a rigorous test and training period alongside several other experienced and qualified soldiers prior to being chosen to take the serum? It was then that he was determined to be the best candidate and most qualified. Not because of his physical abilities or military experience, but because of his will, determination, selflessness, integrity, bravery, morals, etc. He threw himself on top of a live grenade while other soldiers ran away to save themselves. They weren't looking for someone with the most military experience and he wasn't just handed the serum by having his name drawn out of a hat nor did he steal anything from anyone. He had to earn the privilege, which he did and then proved himself on the battlefield.

He threw himself on top of a live grenade while other soldiers ran away to save themselves. It wasn't a live grenade. It was a dud thrown by the CO at a training base. He knew it was a dud so he threw himself on it to make himself look heroic. he wasn't just handed the serum by having his name drawn out of a hat nor did he steal anything from anyone. He had to earn the privilege, which he did and then proved himself on the battlefield. Wrong again!!! He used the super-PED to steal the job from more experienced and more qualified officers who had worked their butts off for many years serving Uncle Sam and America to put themselves next in line for a promotion to Captain. If Steve Rogers hadn't taken the super-PED, would he have been given the rank of Captain in the US Army? The answer is NO. Steve Rogers couldn't even get into the Army because he was too lazy to exercise and train like the other recruits did so if Steve Rogers hadn't taken the super-PED, then Steve Rogers wouldn't even be in the Army and the promotion to Captain would've been awarded to an experienced and qualified officer who was next in line for the promotion.
Steve Rogers was given the rank of Captain over more experienced and more qualified officers who were next in line for a promotion ONLY because he took the super-PED. So YES, Steve Rogers did use the super-PED to steal the job from more experienced and more qualified officers who had worked their butts off for many years serving Uncle Sam and America to put themselves next in line for a promotion.
And there is no integrity to stealing a job from someone more experienced and more qualified simply by taking a shortcut and using PEDs.

He wasn't lazy, he had a bunch of health conditions which prevented him from getting big. This is part of his file from CA:TFA.

When you say Rogers wasn't qualified, you are insulting the judgement of Erskine and Phillips. So you think you know better than a scientist and a colonel who should have gotten the serum?

They were on a training base and the grenade was thrown by the CO. Who would believe that 1) the enemy would attack a training base and 2) the CO would throw a live grenade at his own trainees? Rogers knew it was a dud. He jumped on it to make himself look more heroic. he was chosen by Dr. Erskine and Colonel Phillips based on what they considered to be the qualifications desired in a candidate for the serum. Being chosen for a super-PED doesn't make someone qualified to be a Captain in the army. A Captain is an officer who commands other soldiers. Rogers had no command experience at all so Rogers was unqualified to be a Captain. And you still haven't answered my question: If Steve Rogers hadn't taken the super-PED, would he have been given the rank of Captain in the US Army?

Rogers had no command experience at all so Rogers was unqualified to be a Captain. You kind of got it backwards. They knew he had the smarts and personality for it, he just needed the body - which they were able to provide. So yes, he was qualified because they decided he was...and it turns out they were right because goddamn did he ever kick some ass. Steve Rogers was given the rank of Captain over more experienced and more qualified officers who were next in line for a promotion ONLY because he took the super-PED. How is it stealing when they only way he got it was those in command chose him? He didn't sabotage anyone. He didn't kill the competition. He was just himself and that's what made him qualified for the serum program.

Not to mention without the serum, he was still like 5'4". Second, I don't even know what you're complaining about. This is all in the comics. He doesn't take the super serum, he doesn't become Captain America. He was chosen because he had the heart. He had the heart even before he became Captain America. He tried to enlist into the army, not because he wanted to go into battle and just kill a bunch of Nazis, but because he didn't like bullies.

He doesn't take the super serum, he doesn't become Captain America. Exactly! That's what I've been explaining to you! If Steve Rogers doesn't take the super-PED, he doesn't get into the Army and he doesn't become a Captain. So he became a Captain ONLY because he took the super-PED. Therefore, he did in fact use the super-PED to steal the job of Captain from more experienced and more qualified officers who had worked their butts off for many years serving Uncle Sam and America to put themselves next in line for a promotion to Captain. Steve Rogers wanted to join the army because he wanted to get girls like the other soldiers did. That's why when Steve Rogers found out he was in 2011, his first question wasn't "Who won the war?" or "Did we win the war?". He didn't give a shit about the war. All he gave a shit about was not being able to get inside Peggy Carter's panties.

Well you can`t really blame him for wanting that can you?..................And i disagree that the only reason Steve Joined the army was to get women. And i think the question "Where am i?" Makes far more sense to ask than "who won the war" or "Did we win the war" At that point he did not know he was 70 years into the future. So how could he ask a question about who won the war or if they won the war when he did not know the war was over?

1st; his personality combined with the serum made him qualified. Unless you know better than Colonel Phillips... I guess you just hate the American military.
2nd; the serum alone wouldn't have been enough. His personality qualified him for the serum, the results of the serum combined with his personality made him qualified to be a captain.
3rd; he was 'handed' the rank by having what Colonel Phillips was looking for in a captain.

i disagree that the only reason Steve Joined the army was to get women. That was the first thing he thought about when he found out he was 70 years in the future. i think the question "Where am i?" Makes far more sense to ask than "who won the war" or "Did we win the war" Yes, that would've also been an appropriate question. But he didn't ask that question either. All he cared about was not being able to get inside Peggy Carter's panties. At that point he did not know he was 70 years into the future. So how could he ask a question about who won the war or if they won the war when he did not know the war was over? Nick Fury told him he had been asleep for 70 years. So he knew he was 70 years in the future. The first thing any soldier would've asked was "Who won the war?" or "Did we win the war?". But Steve Rogers didn't give a shit about the war and only cared about not being able to get inside Peggy Carter's panties.

his personality combined with the serum made him qualified. His personality doesn't give him command experience, which is the qualifications for a promotion to Captain in the army. His personality qualified him for the serum His personality doesn't give him command experience and doesn't qualify him for a promotion to a command position. You still haven't answered my question: If Steve Rogers hadn't taken the super-PED, would he have been given the rank of Captain in the US Army?

His personality doesn't give him command experience, which is the qualifications for a promotion to Captain in the army.
An exception was made - and it was the right decision. You still haven't answered my question: If Steve Rogers hadn't taken the super-PED, would he have been given the rank of Captain in the US Army?
I did answer it. His personality got him the serum - the serum + his personality got him his rank. Rogers wasn't qualified for a promotion to a command position and the ONLY reason he got the job was because he took the super-PED.
It wasn't the only reason. They could have given the serum to anyone, but Steve was special. You keep saying he wasn't qualified...but Erskine and Phillips decided he was...and they were right.
So Rogers did in fact use the super-PED to steal the job from more experienced and more qualified officers who had worked their butts off for many years serving Uncle Sam and America to put themselves next in line for a promotion to Captain.
When you say he 'stole' the job, you're completely ignoring Phillips' role in Steve getting that job. You can't steal something that doesn't belong to anyone yet, and Phillips determined that it belonged to Steve. And there's no integrity at all to using PEDs to steal a job from someone more experienced and more qualified.
Is there integrity in undergoing an experiment which for all you know will kill you or make you a freak just for the chance to get killed while fighting a war?
