It's good. I guess I understand its place on so many greatest lists, it seems to represent its niche. My own top 50 has a couple of those when I compiled it- not wanting to overlook favs of some genres.

7/10. It's fun, but could do without that long tedious dance number 'gotta dance' I think it's called - goes on much too long.

Singin' in the Rain (1952) A definite vote of 10 for me here . IMPO - Especially with my top favorite ( also most talented and memorable ) actress Debbie Reynolds & actor Gene Kelly makes this classic gem unforgettable as well . Thanks so much kevin for your subject post .

A wonderful and magical film, the talent involved is just incredible, Gene Kelly is brilliant, Debbie Reynolds is very good, there were a few surprises, first in Donald O'Connor who is equal to Kelly and offers some inspired moments, such a gifted entertainer, the appropriately annoying Jean Hagen and there are two dance sequences involving Cyd Charisse which are mesmerizing, I was shocked after watching this it barely got any Oscar attention, the music and songs are outstanding and iconic, the dancing sequences even more so and I had a smile on my face throughout the film. 10/10

I have seen a few of his movies but definitely want to see more.
