I know in the past, people have talked about how downloading a simple picture can infect a computer... and... Some websites these days seem to have such a complex design, which then takes forever to load, and so you don't really know what is being downloaded behind the scenes without your knowledge. For example, How do we know just coming to this website is safe? (I'm a sure it probably is, but...) It seems there is little discussion on how this ransomware typically spreads... I know many of us are careful internet users that don't go to strange websites, or open e-mails from unknown users, and so on... so this major attack must be transmitting through common methods. It's very scary to think about... I have never heard of this software program that you mention... The last thing anyone wants is to do is download a program that is supposed to protect us, but using it will actually cause what we are trying to prevent... I could easily see the writer of a ransomware program, also writing a "cure" to trap other users... So how do we know that this program is trustworthy and safe to use?
