I really think it was the DisneyFlix shows that opened a lot of fans eyes up to the worst aspects of the MCU. I was always slightly critical of the franchise but at the same time, a huge fan. Then I saw some of those shows and could absolutely finally see clearly why some people hate this franchise. They really are the epitome of the soulless corporate copy/paste content machines that run entertainment now. WandaVision, Falcon/Winter Soldier, Loki, Hawkeye and Ms Marvel were "Soulless"? Not WV. But it was way overrated. The others though? Yes. Resurrecting Loki for no good reason even though his arc is done just to further profit off the character? The very definition of soulless corporate mandated filmmaking. Love how you didn’t include She Hulk there btw. Even you know that show sucked. 😂

They were singing it's praises when WandaVision, Falcon/Winter Soldier, Loki and Hawkeye came out. As well as Shang Chi and No Way Home. Falcon and the Winter Soldier didn't get that great a reception, I heard quite some mixed things about that. What If also to some extent with its portrayal of Thor. Otherwise the TV shows weren't too bad. Shang Chi was pretty good so that getting praise made sense but then the two movies either side of it, Black Widow and Eternals, didn't get a good reception either. It didn't start with Thor. It probably got worse with Thor but there'd been a turn even before it.

You should remember that IMDb ratings are not exactly the most reliable thing to use. Out of everything I've always found IMDb to be the best metric of such a thing. Certainly more than RT because it's mostly just regular people, in the hundreds of thousands, who vote on these things.

They advanced him by having him lose his aunt thus him having to live life without her while Black Panther 2 was a shallow pity party to tug at the heartstrings that's all. Basically a 2 hour charity for the bereaved cast. So Spider-Man has a new Woman in a Refrigerator while Wakanda Forever paid proper tribute to a dead character. That was self inflicted all they needed to do was recast they don't get bonus points for shooting themselves in the face. The character isn't dead the actor is dead do you need help in separating the actor from the role too?

The two monsters fighting each other in the end were literally only the best characters in Shang Chi and they weren't even real. Forgettable cast.

They were in a lose-lose situation no matter what, especially considering the last black character who got recasted had some really dodgy racism issue caused by Perlmutter.

Review bombings at IMDb has gotten worse in recent years. But review bombings happe on both sides of the scale in IMDB. The number of people immediately rating a show 10/10 usually cancels out the number of people automatically rating a show 1/10. So in the end you still end up with a mostly accurate rating.

Not necessarily. ‘Strange World’ still has 5.6/10 even though I’m pretty sure that it’s considerably better than ‘Chicken Little’, which has 5.7/10.

That's only your opinion though, and your opinion isn't enough to prove whether review bombings are skewed or not. What I can say is that prior to a show coming out, the number of 10/10 scores will usually slightly outnumber the 1/10 scores which means a show tends to start off with a somewhat positive score even before it has been released. But it's close enough to a 5/10 so it's basically a good starting ground for the real scores to be based on

I'd love to see these series and shows maybe take more chances and raise the stakes a bit more. I always know what to practically expect from a Marvel movie or show and that's not good at all. I really would love more of an auteur touch but then Feige would never allow a director a significant amount of power on these differing movies, its his way or the highway unfortunately. I mean, do you want some Prima Donna control freak running roughshod over characters? If its David Fincher? why not at least the dude has vision.

Review bombings at IMDb has gotten worse in recent years. Yeah but that rarely happens. Out of the tens of thousands of movies on the site how many are subject to such a thing and even when it happens it doesn't always make up such a significant amount to make much of a factor in the score. You also get a lot of people that give everything a 10 blindly too. 33,000 people gave Black Widow a 10. It ain't no 10. Meanwhile 8,000 people gave it a 1 which it's not either but overall a 6.7...yeah that's about right. Hundreds of thousands of largely casuals movie fans vote on these things to get an average. To me it's a lot closer than a couple hundred snobby critics on RT.

Loki was about bringing in Kang and discussing things like ideas on fate and predestination and timeline variants. It expanded things.
Hawkeye and Falcon/Winter Soldier?

Look at the Nolan Joker, no one complained that they didn't recast him and bring him back for TDKR. They let the character be removed with Ledgers' passing.

I’m not talking about the gay characters. The movie itself was not super well received aside from that. A lot of reviewers celebrated the progressive elements while also criticizing the movie. That IS possible to do, you know.

I notice when people are critical of Star Wars you attack the actual fans, but when people are critical of the MCU you put “fans” in quotes. LMAO. Hypocrisy much?

Some initial comments on Twitter but that's about it.
