Odds of a perfect bracket: 1-139,000,000,000,000,000,000 Glad so many people are getting a rudimentary understanding of compound probability. Now they just need to apply that to the Powerball and Megamillions lotteries.

What's the closest anyone has ever gotten to a March Madness perfect bracket?

That was 14 picks away.
You have to wonder if sometime, someone, doesn't defy the 139 quintillion to one odds and pick a perfect. ESPN had over 22 million brackets submitted, CBS, Yahoo and the Casinos all have close to that. You might get over 100,000,000 brackets picked, Still a far cry from a quintillion. That's 1018, or a one with 18 zeroes after. It would probably be some doofus who known fuck all about basketball "I picked Oakland over Kentucky because a Golden Grizzly would beat a Wildcat" or "I picked Fairleigh Dickinson over Purdue because, by Nosredamus' numerical theorem. Fairleigh Dickinson add up to 345 and Purdue only to 211"

There's 1,825 still perfect. I'll be shocked if there more than 25 by tonight. Zero might be more like it

I feel like it's inevitable despite the statistics disagreeing with me. Mostly because with AI and computing programs and the obnoxious rise of sports gambling, you'll see more and more brackets be submitted in general and more and more people will turn to all sorts of different measures to exhaust every possible combination of teams. And yeah, it will not be based on carefully studying all the teams.

I'm currently 1st in our league. I'll revel in that great success now whilst I can... My bracket will no doubt be busted by the end of the weekend 😒

Florida dented my path, lost by 2.
My Final Four is two 1's & 2's each, hopefully this upset barrage doesn't bite me.
