She didn't actually attack him with the lasso; she was trying to prove to herself that Ares was lying. The sword wasn't magic anyway.

She didn't actually attack him with the lasso; she was trying to prove to herself that Ares was lying. The sword wasn't magic anyway. She used the lasso against him, it made physical contact. That's an attack. The DCEU wiki describes it as magical. Some lights suddenly went out when she stabbed that douchebag general. dcextendeduniverse.wikia.com/wiki/God_KillerOh, and didn't she believe the god killer was magic (or 'specially powered' at least) when she used the lasso on him? She didn't believe what he had just said (that's she's the god killer not the sword), and he didn't specially say it wasn't magic anyway.

Ares also didn't need to say that it wasn't magical. The implication was that it wasnt, given how he casually shrugged it off as being nothing special. Furthermore, what is the point of this thread anyway? What exactly are you poking fun at?

You didn't address the fact that she still believed it was magic. It literally went Diana attacks with sword Ares destroys sword Diana: The God Killer! Ares: It's not the God Killer, you are! Diana: Liar! (Lassos) The point? It's a discussion forum ain't it? Sheesh....

Her thinking the sword is magic shouldn't have much bearing on her using the lasso to try and getAres to tell the truth. The point of the lasso wasn't to defeat Ares, it was to try and prove that he was lying. I simply don't think this particular thing you brought up is worth devoting a thread to. What exactly are you asking?

He still believes the BS excuse that the equipment guy who deflated the footballs for Brady called himself "The Deflator" not because he was the one deflating the footballs for Brady but because he was trying to lose weight. LOL!!!

What exactly are you asking? Not random fans, fans who pay enough attention to write a wiki. Fans who have probably seen it more than once, and discuss it with others. Doesn't matter that it wasn't to defeat him. He destroyed the sword rather than let her use it against him. She should have expected him to do the same to the lasso. She thought he lied. She obviously also thought he wouldn't tell the truth unless compelled. There was literally no reason for her to expect the lasso to work better than the sword. This isn't about facts, it's about what she knew and what she believed at the time. Not worth devoting a thread? Are we paying by the thread here? Can there be only a finite number of threads? The OP is a Tom Brady fan. He supports a cheater and fraud like Brady. That's why he's such an idiot and writes idiotic posts. He still believes the BS excuse that the equipment guy who deflated the footballs for Brady called himself "The Deflator" not because he was the one deflating the footballs for Brady but because he was trying to lose weight. LOL!!! You want to do this dance again? Your whole argument boils down to "Judge Chin and Wells/Marlow/Exponent (paid by Goodell) say so!"
Nevermind that the footballs were the right pressure according to every scientist not paid by Goodell. Nevermind that McNally only called himself the deflator once, in the middle of the off-season, during a conversation that had nothing to do with football. Nevermind that Brady knew how to get an equipment rule changed because he had done so already. Nevermind that Brady was fine with footballs being 13psig his entire career and only had a problem when the refs inflated balls to 16 in October, 2014. Nevermind how implausible it is that Brady would want footballs hastily deflated to imprecise levels in a cramped bathroom rather than all be the same. Oh, and you still haven't addressed anything I've said about Ultron killing Strucker. Did you think deflecting a WW topic to Brady would make me forget about that?

Where in the movie was it confirmed that the sword was magic? It seemed to just be a normal sword. Fans claiming it is magic doesn't mean that it was. Also, your argument doesn't make sense. She shouldn't have used her lasso, which has a purpose not intended for killing on Ares because her sword was destroyed? What? That makes zero sense. By your logic, she shouldn't have fought Ares at all, and should've just let him kill humanity...

Hey, I'm no Brady or Patriot's fan, as you can see with my username, but even I know the whole deflategate is a load of crap and you're just like every Patriot haters, with your panties in a bunch because Brady is probably one of the best quarterback of our generation, and the Cowboys haven't won a Superbowl since '96

She didn't actually attack him with the lasso; she was trying to prove to herself that Ares was lying. The sword wasn't magic anyway. It was never stated what the properties of the sword were. What was established was that only a god can kill a god so the entire notion of a "god-killer" sword was false.

For dnno1 also You are ignoring that this is not about what is and is not true, but what she believed at the time. She thought the sword was magic. He destroyed it and implied the sword was not magic. She called him a liar and used the lasso - meaning she still believed the sword was magic. seahawksraawk00 don't get too into it with DC-Fan . By saying deflategate is a load of crap, he'll now act 100% convinced you are a lifelong Patriots/Brady fan. He'll tell you the only scientific opinions that matter are those belonging to people hired by Goodell - the ex-Jets employee that had had a shitty year (Ray Rice/Adrian Peterson) and needed someone on which to drop the hammer.

Yes, she believed the sword was the Godkiller. I don't see how that means that her using the lasso on Ares was somehow nonsensical. I don't recall the film ever claiming that the lasso doesn't work on Gods.

That means she should have expected him to be able to destroy the lasso as well.

She was already in conflict with Ares, so what would she have to lose by that point?

Let's assume that he would've broken the lasso, why should that prevent her from trying to use it? She was already in conflict with Ares, so what would she have to lose by that point? Exactly. It was just a poorly written part. It's not like she defeated him with the lasso. It didn't seem like he wanted to lie anyway. Did the lasso actually compel him or did he just say what he wanted to say? Why not use it? Well it could have gone that; she tried to use the lasso, he broke it, she defeated him anyway, then no longer had a lasso to use on others. Or it could have gone that; she decided trying to use the lasso would be useless, why risk him destroying it, defeat him anyway, have lasso for later. But of course it worked out the way it did because it was written like that... Know what's funny? The Lasso of Truth was created by one of the guys (William Moulton Marston) who invented the lie detector. Well, he invented a component. The guy who took that a step further, John Larson, and invented the modern polygraph has called it "Frankenstein's monster" and basically said that it's bullshit.

It would have been pretty much the same. She didn't even hurt him with the lasso . It seemed he wanted to do his spiel after destroying the sword anyway, the lasso was just a prop so she had something to do with her hands while he rambled. If they were in a bigger room he would have just walked around her slowly, talking while she stood still. The way he electrified the lasso makes me think it wasn't actually making him honest. Oh and then he zapped her through it anyway... so, made no sense to use the lasso, it had no effect, and it got her blasted. I guess you're just saying it was a 'last-ditch desperation move because what-the-fuck-else-can-I-do,' which doesn't make her look very good in my opinion. It was really just a nonsensical decision that ultimately led to them being separated without having to make her flee.

She wasn't trying to hurt him with the lasso, she was trying to get him to tell the truth, and the truth in question was that in regards to whether or not Diana was the Godkiller, and whether or not Ares was the one who started the war.
