I've always liked the kitchen in "Family Ties".
On that note, what is your favourite 1980s TV kitchen?

the golden girls. simple, normal, meshed with the rest of the house. gentle Floridian/tropical accents.
the cosby show. although illogical with nyc townhouses it is spacious and inviting.
mama's family. actually was what a kitchen from a house built in the 30's or whatever looked like... mudroom off to the back and side. small unobtrusive kitchen table. area is not that big and it matches the rest of the house [see my comment below about kitchens in real life]. simple appliances and i absolutely loved the service hatch. god, our last childhood house we had to go through two rooms to get things to the dining room table! shoot me now!
not a tv show but i adored the kitchen in the movie clue. god that place was kick ass.
was not one of my favorites but Roseanne. matched the rest of the house and meshed with the simpleness of the show and the 'area' the show took place in.
in reality, the problem with most kitchens is that no matter the size of the house, most of the kitchens are one assed kitchens. no matter what one person is doing or using, usually they are blocking the rest of the kitchen to be used by anyone else... from chopping something on a counter, to emptying the dishwasher... someone's ass is in the way of someone else. don't complain about being the only one doing anything when you are in the way of us getting to the plates to set the table.
just as long as ass 1 is not bitching about being the only one in the kitchen doing anything.

Growing Pains - it was an interesting thru-fare if you will from the living room towards outside at the garage.

I can't decide between The Cosby Show and The Hogan Family.
My all time favorite tv kitchen is The Waltons!
