I think we can safely say that the people who hate the new movies are in the minority. If any haters see this, I'm guessing I'll be hit with, "But it's gonna flop in China!" in three...two...one...

Wow, those figures are a lot higher than I expected. This will definitely impact opening weekend predictions. The current predictions are 165 - 175 M, but (while just a statistic) it is true that every movie that sold as many pre-release tickets as Black Panther hit 200 million in its opening weekend. While I'm not counting on it, an opening weekend of 200 million or anything close to that would probably show that the Star Wars brand is unstoppable. If they can survive the extreme divisiveness of TLJ, the meh reactions to the early Solo marketing material, the fact that nobody really asked for this movie and the fact that the movie doesn't have lightsabers, they can probably survive anything.
