thank god they were fired indeed, and even if it seems like playing devil's advocate: Thank you Kathleen Kennedy for giving these clowns the boot before they could put a squishy raccoon turd into the Star Wars lore (there I said it, stone me for it!). These are not the directors we were looking for. Update: Read the article, the OP misrepresented the statement, they never said that. Might be a spin to defame the guys or to generate click bait.

It would be more similar to GotG That sounds like John Carter. Last thing Disney would want is an expensive flop. I love John Carter, but the director spent so much making it, it was dead in the water. Sounds like they should have gone with someone like that from the start. Kasdan is a known entity to the property. Wasting time/money on multiple shots is not good unless they didnt know what they wanted. Why were they steering back on course? Shouldnt they have been there in the first place? So they recognized it wasnt their product at all.
