I was a BIG Firefox fan. Had it on my PC and Android. LOVED it. Then they came out with that Quantum update or whatever, and suddenly most of my add-ons stopped working because they were "legacy" add-ons, and the browser itself started running slow as lame duck walking through a pool of molasses. I thought the slowness was just my PC (it's pretty old and crappy), but the mobile version of Firefox was slow as hell on my phone, too. After being an avid Firefox fan for years, I switched to Chrome. Just wondering if anyone else had problems with FF after the Quantum update.

I've experienced that myself, although I thought the big selling point was that it is supposed to be 2x times faster. ("Fast for good.")

I still have the same hardware specs since 2015 with enough RAM (16GB).
However, I would like to address one minor peeve: Mozilla changing the default favorites location to "Other Bookmarks". I don't know how many times I kept saving sites temporarily only to realize they were being put elsewhere. This forced me to install an extension just to make absolutely sure when I click Bookmarks from the menu bar whatever's saved appears on the very bottom like it has been for the past 20+ years.
Seems like a bad move on their part. I can easily create folders and organize what I need, but something I have no intention of using in the future should go directly underneath them.

I never been a fan of Chrome because it's a RAM hog. although even that aside I always preferred the overall feel/responsiveness of Firefox with the extensions I use. so basically between Firefox/Pale Moon x64 those have been my primary browser for a very long time now (I have been using computers since 1995). Pale Moon x64 was what I was using the most recently for years but about a month or two ago I switched back to Firefox as it's noticeably faster than Pale Moon x64 which is especially noticeable on more taxing websites. I likely won't be going back to Pale Moon x64 at this point but if I need another browser it's probably still a decent backup browser for me. as far as extensions... it's best to keep those to a minimum in general. I only use three extensions (uBlock Origin/GestureFy/Disconnect) and one of those three I could go without if I had to. basically uBlock Origin (or equivalent) is pretty much required if one wants the internet not to suck with a bunch of ads/junk etc. p.s. only reason I use that GestureFy extensions is because it makes navigating tabs quicker as I set it so I can hold down right mouse click and then use the mouse wheel and scroll and depending on which way I scroll the mouse it instantly changes to the tab to the left or right of the current one. then I set it so that if I hold down right mouse click and mouse the mouse down and to the right quickly and release the right click it instantly closes the current tab. I can even reopen a closed tab(s) by holding right click and then mouse mouse right and then left and release right click and it will open previously closed tab. NOTE: Chrome does have the biggest browser market share by a large margin. CrepedCrusader How much RAM do you have? unless your PC is fairly ancient chances are you got at least 4GB of RAM and with that much RAM, assuming your not running a bunch of stuff in the background, it should be 'okay enough' for basic use. p.s. I am using Windows 10 x64 Pro on my main PC and everything runs great here. I got a i3-2120 CPU and 8GB of RAM etc. basically 8GB of ram is that sweet spot to where you will never have RAM issues (at least not for the foreseeable future) for general usage and then some. I do indeed have 4GB of RAM. My computer does run a bit slow sometimes, which is why I thought it was the PC and not FF that was the problem (even though the previous version of FF before the update worked fine). But like i said, it ran slow on my phone, too.

I used it until recently when it suddenly stopped working properly. I use Chrome now.

I was using it years ago. It kept losing the bookmarks on the links ribbon. I think there was other issues.
Now I use Chrome, which has had its own problems and is NOT as fast as advertised.

I still use an older version of Firefox on my home computer, though I use Chrome for most things. If it wasn't for so many of the sites I visit not being compatible with it, I'd still be using Firefox for everything. I'm forced to be on dialup at home and trying to download anything of much size (like a newer version) takes a ridiculous amount of time.
