I'm really struggling to see what you're celebrating. 50 homosexuals haven't become heterosexual - they've just become celibate. So all their faith has succeeded in doing is suppressing their desire - not changing it. And 50 is statistically an insignificant number compared to the hundreds of thousands of practising homosexual Christians in America right now. In fairness, a lot of the ex-gay people aren't celibate. Rather, they have sex with women whilst closing their eyes and thinking about George Clooney. I'm still wondering what discrimination these people face. Innsmouth claimed they faced "some of the worst discrimination in America." Considering that America is a place where gay and black people have been literally murdered for being what they are, surely some truly terrible things must be happening to the ex-gays. I'm braced to hear the stories, but so far a bit of mild shunning from the left (and applause from the right) is all I've heard of.

Is there some group who opposes formerly gay turned straight marriage? Are there bakeries refusing to sell to formerly gay turned straight couples? All these knuckleheads are doing is showing that they don’t know what the word discrimination actually means. They just latch on to a word that they see as belonging to “victims” and claim it because they want people to think they are victims.

Is there some group who opposes formerly gay turned straight marriage? One can only assume! Of course to the right, making bakers bake cakes is the highest form of discrimination that exists in the world. When a western christian speaks of "discrimination" against themselves, what they always, always mean is that somebody is trying to stop them from discriminating against others. I've literally never seen an exception to this rule. Oh, very much so. Fundamentalist/evangelical types are almost desperate to think of themselves as discriminated against. It's because there's something in the bible saying that in the end times all sorts of horrid things will happen to christians. Hell, there are some around here who all but jerk off to the prospect that some kind of unified church is gonna be throwing them to lions or something.

Animals with brain damage might do that. As a military supervisor you might know. Military =/= stupid. 😎 The idea of risking life and limb while ensuring your enemies lose theirs might be a very alien concept to the average civvy, but that doesn't mean they're stupid, and not everyone who joins is a frontline grunt. While everyone goes through basic combat training, you need to have a very high level of education for a great deal of roles. Pilots, sonar operators, doctors, engineers, these are not roles for idiots. 😎 Not everyone who joins is a pilot, doctor, or engineer either.

Just on the government scale, how about law after law banning the services that groups offer that seek to help guide them through their challenges? Often branded as "conversion therapy," which is a complete booygyman of the left. You know all this, you're just being bigotly obtuse.

One of the great truths that I believe Graham has said is In this case it still holds true. 'Some groups' choose to con stressed, psychologically vulnerable, unwary and unwise Christian homosexuals into undergoing a 'course of therapy' which is at best misguided, ALWAYS unnecessary and unsuccessful and at its worst, akin to torture. www.livescience.com/25082-gay-conversion-therapy-facts.html

Gee, I wonder why the RIGHT WING CONSERVATIVE CONTROLLED government would ban that!

Some of us repair and upgrade multimillion dollar aircraft systems, manage in-flight refueling operations, maintain nuclear weapons, and provide air traffic control for aircraft dozens of flight operations a day. You mean you do the best you can to follow the instructions of the civilian contractors who actually provide all those things. Civilian contractors do not provide areal refueling and they certainly don’t maintain nuclear weapons idiot! Particularly with respect to nukes (or stealth technology), one must be a DoD employee (ie military) and have a valid Top Secret security clearance, along with a need to know. We’ve all gone through extensive background checks and get drug tested regularly. Allowing civilian contractors who work for a company primary access and control of the US nuclear stockpile sounds like a pretty fucking idiotic idea to me. Areal refuelers are active duty military personnel on flying status. And most bases would not have civilian contractors as air traffic controllers either. I say “most” because I can’t say for certain that their are none, as I’ve not been to every military base. I’ve just never seen any at any base I’ve been to. I have seen civilian contractors working as civil engineering, communications operations, weather operations, and maintenance operations centers. But even still, the majority are military. The one thing mentioned that civilian contractors can do is aircraft maintenance, but that is variable by base, command, mission, specialty, and platform. For modification upgrades of certain subsystems, civilian contractors of various companies who develop the technology (Boeing, Lockheed Martin, Raytheon, etc) are consulted. But they are mainly there for operational testing and to work out design flaws or technical manual errors. This is mainly because they are the subject matter experts on either newly designed, experimental, or prototype systems/upgrades, and sometimes because of controlled proprietary knowledge before a system is fielded. Job security necessitates that fact that they cannot tell us everything. Regardless, Air Force and Navy aircraft maintainers are generally more educated, more skilled, and more disciplined than anyone you’ll find working on a jet at your local airport! Most Airman will have technical school training, associates degrees, A&P licenses, and continual skill level upgrade progression. Senior enlisted personnel will often have bachelors degrees, while field grade commissioned officers will have master’s degrees. Tell you what, to save you some embarrassment, why don’t you stay out of subject matters that you’re clearly ill equipped to be discussing. You don’t know what you don’t know!

They might give you the keys to the car, but you had nothing to do with making the car. And anyway no, they don't give you the keys to the car. You do not decide when to fire nuclear weapons. See, I went to school too. There are people who believe the military is the foundation of all goodness in society. Consider this from Charles M. Province. That isn't the truth though. The military is only good for one thing, fighting another military. You need only one talent, to do exactly what you are told. Trump supporters do not believe in a god because they cannot understand what one is. They believe in doing what they are told without critically analyzing it. That's why they're causing trouble in the Middle East. They are too stupid to realize they are on the left of the issue.

Yeah, you've never been near a military base, have you? I've been inside NORAD. Really, you'll just have to take my word for it.

Consider this from Charles M. Province. This might be pointed out to those on another thread here who have recently claimed that Mohammad was less moral than Jesus, at least partly because of his martial reputation and actions.

What a broad perspective on the military your NORAD tourism trip must have given you. As far as everything else you’ve suggested about military service, I’m not even going to dignify it with a response other than to say that it should stand for itself and be perpetually preserved should anyone else here remain in doubt about your particular level of ignorance. And based on that one particular comment of yours, I don’t think I have anything else ever to say to you again, nor do you have the right to communicate with me again.

PLEASE don't stop communicating with Planet Arlon! He is one of my main sources of entertainment on here with the shit that he comes up with! He is the antediluvian template for the Dunning Kruger Effect with a side of "you damned kids, get off my lawn". He is the knowitall of knowitalls the anti-Christ of science and just a pinup boy for the andropausal 'Grumpy Old Man Syndrome. He is the Statler and Waldorf of the board with Irritable Male Syndrome, and his opinion of himself is beyond legendary with a wonderful lack of self awareness. The fact that he displays this with every post is absolutely fabulous!...annoying occasionally butt wonderful if you take it in this context. I love him!
