I mentioned in my review, Avengers 4 won't even have to be as dramatic because it's a payoff film. Avengers 3 IW might be the most high stakes dramatic peak of the MCU ever at the end of it all, even years from now.
IW is the apex of the tension & drama, it needn't be topped.

Infinity War is indeed a solid comic book movie... But I don't think epicness equates to quality. I think a stronger tighter narrative with more focus on character can easily top it in movie 4.

There is no high stakes if it is clear that everything will be put to normal again, that nobody who died will remain death. |

They had a tv show called Avengers in tge 60s. Spy show Nah, you're thinking of the live-action movie from the 90s: I wasn't familiar with the show when the movie came out. I almost sh!t my pants when I saw the Avengers movie poster because I thought it was about the comic. I only had to wait another 14 years! Tell me for a split second you wouldn't have thought this was Jarvis and Black Widow.  |

I wasn't familiar with the show when the movie came out. I almost sh!t my pants when I saw the Avengers movie poster because I thought it was about the comic. I only had to wait another 14 years! Because ... how the hell do you top THAT! Without a doubt, Infinity War has to be the most EPIC superhero movie ever made. Nothing else even comes remotely close. Marvel just set set the bar so high that even they are going to be hard pressed to maintain that level of awesomeness. And the competition? Fugetaboutit. They might as well pack it in now. Cancel the release of Aquaman to avoid embarrassing comparisons, and go straight to video. Even Antman & Wasp and Deadpool 2 will have difficulty in the wake of Infinity War ... unless they really change it up and offer something completely different. Avengers: Infinity War is a landmark seismic shift in the superhero movie landscape. Nothing will ever be the same again. I'd say they shouldn't try to top it. Bring it down. |

Once there's a 15 movie arc combining the MCU with DC, that's the real end game. I think X-Men will be on tap within the next 5-10yrs, there's no way they keep making standalone X-Men movies just to contractually keep it from the MCU. Fantastic Four is doa right now, X-Men simply cannot match the MCU's might. Easily injected like GotG & Spider-Man were for current MCU... out of leftfield with a purpose. |

I like Return of the Jedi slightly better. I know everyone prefers Empire and I did too when I was a kid, but the scenes in Jabba's palace, the Emperor having a big role, the unmasking of Vader, and the nicely wrapped up ending make me find Episode VI slightly superior. They definitely overdid it with the Ewoks though. |
