Wow. That is very surprising. Thanks for sharing that DCFan. The last thing I heard about the 'Doom Patrol' TV show was they were going to have them appear on 'Titans' and if they were popular they would make a TV show but for DC to just go ahead with this series must mean they have a lot of faith in them and their Online Streaming Service. I just read there is another live action show that is expected to be announced soon too and fingers crossed it is a 'Batwoman', 'Zatanna' or 'Bombshells' TV show. Those would be awesome and if they can have Dick Grayson in a 'Nightwing' movie and a 'Teen Titans' TV show at the same time they should make a 'Batgirl' TV show or a 'Detective Comics' TV show minus Batman with Batwoman, the Spoiler, Orphan, Red Robin, Bluebird, Batwing, Azrael etc so we can FINALLY get the full Bat Family in live action without having to wait for the movies. With 'Gotham' ending the city should no longer be off limits.

Isn't that the X Men? Why did they change their name and what are they doing in DC? Did DC buy Marvel and can use their characters but has to change their names?

No. The 'Doom Patrol' are not the X-Men. They have a similar look and that look somewhat inspired the 'X-Men' but the 'Doom Patrol' and 'X-Men are very different groups and you will see that when they appear in 'Titans.'

I never heard of that Marvel team before. But I have heard of The Uncanny X-Men and The New Teen Titans, though I haven't read it yet. I imagine Marvel dropped their Titans team for the same reason DC stopped calling Beast Boy Logan.

I imagine Marvel dropped their Titans team for the same reason DC stopped calling Beast Boy Logan. I hadn't heard of them until recently either and I think they were short lived 'cause of their name and Marvel had a lot of other superhero teams and didn't need them but it is interesting how many times DC and Marvel have copied each other and other companies too and the two of them have multiple superheroes and villains that resemble one another and there have been a few superheroes in Marvel that have been the name for DC villains and vice versa. I sometimes think it is coincidental but other times the similarities are way too close to not be deliberate and it is a wonder there haven't been more court cases between the two of them but when you have writers going back and forth with the characters some of them might just be trying to remake their other character in a different company. For example there is a character in 'Bloodstrike' that looks just like Deadpool and I don't think that was coincidental with Rob Liefel being the creator of both characters and then we have the jungle characters like Sheena: Queen of the Jungle, Tarzan, George of the Jungle, Shanna the She Devil and Jana of the Jungle that all copy off Rima the Jungle Girl but there were so many of them they took on a life of their own and become a separate genre.

Weird doesn't even begin to describe when it comes to some comic books that go all out with the craziest things imaginable and I am not sure how some of them would go if they adapted them into movies or TV shows but they adapted 'The Addams Family' and that went on to become one of the most loved shows of all time so sometimes weirdness can be beneficial for a movie or TV show.

No. We weren't aware of that one Josh. Although, I am surprised it has taken them so long to make another adaption of 'The Addams Family' 'cause the last one I seem to recall seeing was 'The Addams Family Reunion' in the late 90s and I heard there was a live action remake called 'The New Addams Family' but I didn't see that on TV here. Did that air where you live and was it good or bad? Speaking of 'The Addams Family' who liked 'The Munsters?' I liked that even more than 'The Addams Family' and grew up watching reruns of it with my Aunt and Uncle.

I vaguely remember a second live-action Addams Family TV series in the last 10-20 years but that's it. I loved The Munsters! Herman always reminded me of my dad.

Speaking about 'The Munsters' here is an article about that remake I was telling you about before. What looked really funny to me was when I saw 'The Munsters' in colour for the first time 'cause I had watched the show in black and white with my Aunt and I didn't know they were those colours and then there were the TV movies in the 90s and I am curious if they will leave them looking the same or they will try to make the character look more scarier by today's standards 'cause 'The Munsters' started back in the 60s and what was considered scary and weird looking back then is pretty tame now. ‘The Munsters’ Reboot In Works At NBC From Jill Kargman & Seth Meyersdeadline.com/2017/08/the-munsters-reboot-nbc-jill-kargman-seth-meyers-1202146048/

For Christ's sake. The Munsters is an old show and doesn’t need remaking. Why do they have to remake every TV show from the past? We know they are going to fuck this up. There’s gonna be nothing good about it.

It is 'cause they have run out of ideas and they don't want to pay new writers to come up with new shows or take a chance on them in case they flop so they just remake everything they know has been successful in the past thinking that it will be successful again but it doesn't always work out that way and the remakes of 'Chips' and 'The Bionic Woman' were good examples of this and part of the reason 'Chips' flopped was 'cause they made too many changes to it. That being said shows can also flop when they don't make any changes 'cause people don't want to see the exact same thing years later and with a TV show like 'The Munsters' they are most likely going to have to make a few changes to it to modernize it could be another disaster but maybe cjdull76 is right to have some faith 'cause it might a success.

Don’t even talk about the Chips movie. I’d rather watch the original tv show again and forget that abomination ever happened but they’ll remake it again because they can’t help themselves. That Bionic Woman remake was a stinker. Still can’t believe they have the audacity to remake the Six Million Dollar Man next after they fucked that up and putting a billion instead of a million in the title ain’t fooling anybody. I’ll give The Munsters one chance but if the first episode sucks I won’t be watching it again. Count me out.
