B+ from me, it's not bad. Though the 21st century fad of retreading on nostalgic steps like blatantly showing the Ark, Marcus' statue, the photo of his dad, etc isn't great. Otherwise I enjoy its airy feel, swift pacing, & all of the South American stuff is fun.

I enjoyed it when it came out and still like it. It's one of those sequels that's just 'okay'. Never disliked the focus on aliens. I'm actually annoyed they didn't go further with it.

Never have. I only first seen it recently and I thought it was decent. Not awful at all.

When they announced who Indy Jr. was, though my main complaint about the movie was how OOC Marion was through most of it. My best friend, who went to see the original movies in theatres when they came out, said she hated that they had Indy being a spy - and she claimed that wasn't in his character for him to have done it long-term, plus she thought he might have had a little too much notoriety in the academic world to have been a good spy against the Nazi dudes, let alone for all the trouble he had caused them in years prior.

I never realized it, because it wasn't.

It's a good movie. I actually enjoy it more than Last Crusade

It wasn't awful, but it certainly didn't meet the high standards that the first three films set. My enthusiasm waned by the time Mutt was swinging on vines with monkeys and the aliens felt so out of place at the end.

A retrospective review. I generally agree except for the cinematography. I thought Kaminski made a lot of the shots where they're in the jungle look awful.

When the Russians machine-gunned a bunch of Americans in a scene entirely devoid of blood.

I didn't bother to see it. When I heard aliens were the treasure, I lost interest. The prequels aided in the decision.

I’m not sure there was a “damn this sucks moment” but the fridge scene deserves every bit of the hate it gets. The thing I noticed more was just the overall tone, it was like a made for TV Indiana Jones Family Adventure.
