A 54-minute "documentary" produced for the Australian government in 1959 to encourage British people to move to Australia, which is depicted as a modern, up-to-date nation.
It was produced by Artransa Park, a production company which did many, MANY television commercials, along with some TV series. I believe this is the only feature film by the company.
Enjoy.

I love Eastmancolor. It's so gorgeous and unreal.

Very cool. Interesting to see how much the world has changed, but more so how little has changed. Times back then looked so much more simple and better, with so much hope for the future. It's sad to see how much we have ruined the world since then. It's also sad to see what has become of Australia too. It used to be a place everyone wanted to migrate to but is now pretty much just another America, but without the guns.
One part did confuse me though. The guy who played the dad said that his house will be payed off over 30 years. That seems a lot like how it is now. How can that be right? I thought that back then everything, including housing was far more affordable, and only isn't now due to greed and overpopulation. Did I mishear him due to the accent? Maybe he said 13 or something, I don't know. Even 13 is quite shocking to be honest too.
Thanks for sharing.
