Bryan Cranston volunteered which could be interesting. Jonathan Rhys Meyers or Luke Evans could work as well. I heard they had Jon Hamm, it sucks that they cut his scene. No kidding?

Doesnt matter if his comic book character is mundane, movie mediums can bring life to the most boring 1 note characters.

He’s definitely a big enough X baddie to build up to. I noticed the Essex Orphanage and thought they might hint toward more but they didn’t.

Maybe they could follow Chris Claremont's original intention for the character: an ageless, scientific child who creates and possesses versions of his childish fantasies: the ultimate villain Mr. Sinister (only a kid could think up a name like that) and the cool hero Gambit.
