Damn. It has taken her a long time. You have been talking about her releasing new music for years but the only thing she releases is her tv show. Her tv show is rad so she has that working for her and I’d post that trailer you showed me of the new series but I don’t know where ya found that.

Looking sexy and sounding great. This girl knows how to slay. What a pack of dipshits cancelling her show. I know. It annoys me that they cancelled 'Travelers' 'cause the show could have easily gone longer and that is the third show on Netflix they have cancelled that would have made me want us to get it more and there is no point in subscribing to Netflix if they are just going to cancel the shows we want to see 'cause they do that with free to air shows enough and we hardly watch the Syfy Channel now since they cancelled most of our shows. I would have loved more seasons of 'Haven', 'Eureka', 'Continuum', 'Dark Matter', 'Warehouse 13' and 'The Dead Zone' and they should bring some of them back like 'Dark Matter' and give it an ending. Mackenzie is gorgeous and I have more pics I will share later but for now I am sharing her new music video for 'About You' with everybody on here and I hope you all enjoy it.

I'm still mad at SyFy, back when it was called SciFi, for cancelling Farscape when it just had one more season. Sure thye gave it a TV movie years later but it just wasn't quite the same!

I was disappointed over that too. I liked 'Farscape' and used to watch it here when it was on Channel 9 and I was surprised the show was cancelled and didn't go longer 'cause I thought it was popular enough to go for at least a few more seasons but then I was really surprised over 'Dark Angel' being cancelled too and that was one I didn't see coming with the show only having 2 seasons. Syfy have cancelled a lot of good shows over the years and the weirdest thing has always been they said they did it 'cause of the ratings but the shows that replace them don't get anywhere near the same ratings. I have some big news to share with everybody tonight and Chalice_Of_Evil , mszanadu , dazz , stargazer1682 , @red , taylorfirst1 , Admin , Toasted Cheese , QueenB , HirundoRustica , Jayman you might all be excited to know my favourite singer Mackenzie Porter has just realised not one or two but FIVE brand new singles on I Tunes and you can listen to all of them below and here they are along with the pictures and some other pics of Mackenzie. It is an awesome time for Mackenzie fans!!!! I never watched Farscape when it was on, I have the complete series on DVD though as someone brought me it for X-Mas one year thinking it was a show I watched, I have watched it all the way through however and I liked it, never rewatched it though which I probably should, one thing to keep in mind though Deb when a show gets cancelled for cost it's usually because the cost for effects have gotten out of hand, as most of the sets and stuff are built so they don't need to worry about that, but sci-fi & fantasy shows get more expensive year by year as you have to keep upping and developing the universe of the show, which usually include more creatures, battles, explosions and stuff compared to say S1, so say S4 of Farscape could have been costing say $1m an episode to make, but whatever replaced it cost half that, even if the ratings drop by 40% the cost difference still benefits the new show over the old one, though it's dickish they cancelled it knowing S5 was intended to be the last, why not greenlight it for a reduced season and just tell them no filler episodes, atleast that way the series got wrapped nicely, eat that cost you bastards for one season dammit.
Dark Angel I wish they kept going but that was apparently a really expensive show for it's time, sad though because had it run longer I think it would be more iconic, rather than a cult fav.

Okay. You are right. I made a spelling mistake there. Other people do too, you know and I was kinda distracted while I was writing that post. 'Farscape' was a great show and I enjoyed that when it was on TV and I have it on DVD too but I haven't watched it for years and we will have to re-watch that sometime too after we have re-watched 'Smallville' and 'Gotham.' At the moment Beccy and I are re-watching Season 4 of 'Smallville' and Season 3 of 'Gotham' in between other shows but we haven't been watching as many episodes while I have been sick 'cause I have been going to bed earlier than I usually do. You bring up a good point about cost and with a Sci Fi TV Show like 'Farscape' it probably cost a lot of money to make and I am not sure how much exactly but I remember back then the show looked pretty good at the time and $1 million back then was probably worth more than it is now. I know how much things have gone up in our country over the years and $10 for example doesn't get you what it did 20 years ago for example. Yeah it was sad they cancelled it knowing it was only going to have one more season and it bugs me when they don't give shows endings and did you watch 'Dark Matter' dazz 'cause that is one show we really liked on Syfy that was cancelled and didn't get a proper ending and they could have at least given it a shortened down final season or a TV movie.
I hear 'Dark Angel' was cancelled for a number of reasons and one of the main ones was James Cameron being difficult to work with and Jessica Alba talked about a possible movie being in the works years ago but it never happened. With all these new reboots of TV Shows like 'Veronica Mars' I wonder if it could come back.

Oh trust me I make many a mistakes in what I post because I either don't pay attention or my mind wanders mid sentence, sometimes I catch it sometimes I do not, I just found the idea that she's realised her new album funny so I wanted to comment on it.
Never seen Dark Matter but I have heard good things I may have to check that out at some point, and yeah the cost thing is always a pain, but it is surprising when it becomes an issue so early on, usually it's S6 or S8 which cost become an issue depending on the initial contracts the stars sign as by that point they have to renew and will want more money per episode, and usually a lot more money compared to their starting salaries, but with Syfy they are a little different as they are I think a global brand so there isn't much in the way of syndication money for their shows as their usually going to be the ones airing them so keeping a show around for an extra season to hit syndication numbers isn't as simple for their shows.
With Dark Angel what I always heard is Cameron wouldn't back down from his vision and his vision was to take the show bigger for S3 and the network wanted him to cut the budget a little, and Cameron isn't known for being a people person so I can see him being a dick to work with if you didn't agree with his vision.

'Dark Matter' was a good show and one that is still worth checking out even though it didn't get a proper ending and I used to talk to the lead actress, Melissa O'Neil on Myspace when she was a singer and she was really nice and I didn't think she would become an actress. Melissa won Canadian Idol in 2005 and had a number one hit with her song, 'Alive' and a second Top 10 hit with 'Let It Go' but sadly she struggled to get a second album out and turned to acting instead. 'Dark Matter' was also created by two of the main writers of 'Stargate SG1' and 'Stargate Atlantis' and 'Stargate Universe' and I don't know if you watched any of the 'Stargate' shows dazz but I liked 'Stargate SG1' and have the complete series of that on DVD. I am still yet to watch the spinoff shows but I will get around to them one day and I remember seeing the guy who played Rumplestiltskin in 'Once Upon A Time' was the main star of one of them. Yeah. The cost factor would be a pain for a lot of TV Shows but having it happen so early would most likely but the future of the show at risk 'cause the network are the ones who would decide if it is worth paying for and if they are not bringing in a lot of ratings they probably won't see it as being worth it even if they are getting higher ratings than some of the other shows on their channel.
Was cost the reason a show like 'Firefly' cancelled or was it mostly due to the ratings 'cause I remember watching that when it was on Channel 7 here and I wasn't a big fan of it to be honest 'cause I was expecting it to be more of a Horror TV Show like 'Buffy' and 'Angel' when I heard it was a Joss Whedon show and had actors from 'Buffy' and 'Angel' in it but I know there were a lot of other people that liked it so I was surprised when it got cancelled. It is a shame what happened with 'Dark Angel' and I wish they had made a movie of it like they did with 'Firefly' and 'Veronica Mars' 'cause Jessica Alba wanted to do it and there are still fans that would like to see it return but I think if it comes back now it will probably be as a remake with a new actress. I was also disappointed Jessica Alba didn't go on to become a bigger actress and she was good in 'Dark Angel' but it seemed like a lot of the other roles she got didn't work in her favour like Max did and she was best doing Action.

Oh ok cool, yeah I am a huge Stargate fan, loved the movie, SG-1, SGA and the SG-1 movies, not a fan of SGU myself though and I never checked out the animated show or shows as I think there are 2 maybe? but SG-1 was great, wish it had gone a little longer as I think they had some life left in the tank after S10, Vala joining the team and Adria Ascending and there by becoming THE most powerful being in existence would have been an interesting way forward for S11, the film did a fine job wrapping the Ori story up but I still think a full season to delve into more of the aspects would have been interesting, Atlantis is fun also McKay is a hoot through the series, also stars Jason Momoa from S2 onwards as Ronan and he's a lot of fun also, like SG1 I felt it could have carried on a little more, but they do that in the novels which I keep meaning to check out but never do.
For Firefly I do not know, probably was but realistically they are one in the same, ratings determine how much a show makes and budget how much it cost, they are two parts to the same question, is it cost effective to keep the show going? I do not recall Firefly being hugely popular in mainstream more so it was hugely popular with those who watched it, so it probably didn't do huge ratings, Dark Angel though I think did well enough ratings wise but it was just the cost and Cameron issues which doomed it, funny to think Whedon may have been an issue for Firefly also, I mean we know how they basically cancelled Angel as an FU to Whedon, so maybe he pissed off the people at Fox also?

I don’t remember much about the movie. I watched it once years ago and have been meaning to see it again but I thought ‘Stargate SG1’ was really good and I think ‘Stargate’ is one of the few TV Shows based on a movie that went onto become more successful than the movie ‘cause when most people talk about ‘Stargate’ now they talk about the show and Richard Dean Anderson. What were the main differences between the movie and SG1? I remember Kurt Russell played Jack and James Spader was Daniel but I don’t recall what actors played Samantha and Teal'c and come to think of it I remember it was kinda similar to the ‘Buffy’ movie with it not having most of the characters that were in the TV Show and Kurt Russell’s version of Jack didn’t feel like the same character as Richard Dean Anderson’s Jack to me.
Richard Dean Anderson leaving ‘Stargate SG1’ after Season 8 came as a surprise to me and was kinda a blow to the show in the long run and I didn’t think that he would leave ‘cause he was the main star and he appeared as a guest star again but a lot of fans were upset he left including my Aunt who was a big fan of his when he was MacGyver and thought he was a hunk. lol I remember seeing Richard on a talk show a few years ago and he looked very different and he spoke about having health problems and I think they might have played a part in him standing down from the leading role. I still think that it could have gone on longer too and did you like ‘Stargate: Continuum?’ That was the second movie that continued on to ‘SG1’ and had all the original cast back including Richard and I liked that one.
No. ‘Firefly’ wasn’t overly popular here in Australia either and didn’t bring in major ratings but it had its fans and I thought its fanbase were bigger than some of the other shows that kept going and a lot were very vocal when the show got cancelled and didn’t think it was given a fair chance and some of them were saying they cancelled the greatest show in TV history so I was surprised it didn’t get given a second season at least but like you said it might have had something to do with Joss Whedon and he might have rubbed the network the wrong way. Speaking of Sci Fi shows since we are on the Mackenzie Porter thread have you seen Mackenzie’s show, ‘Travelers’ yet Dazz?

In the original film only Ra is said to have come ot earth not any other aliens, his original form is less snake more Asgardian, the gate is believed to only travel between earth and Abydos, Ra's Horus Guards are human and not Jaffa, I think the gate is also meant to belong to Ra and not just something he uses, Jack's personality is WAY different, in the film he's pretty humourless a straight up military man who has a death wish and is guilt ridden by the death of his son, Daniel is mostly the same I think, from what I recall only 7 characters from the film appear in the show, Jack, Daniel, Sha're, Skaara and their father Kasuf, Skaara & Kasuf the only characters played by their same actors from the movie, and then there are 2 other air force guys from the movie, one of whom is taken over by a Gouald in the first episode and killed in the second.
So yeah Carter & Teal'c aren't in the movie, as for RDA I wasn't shocked by it myself, he reduced his role for S8 so he didn't have to be on location so much, plus they thought every season was going to be the last for like the last 5 years, and the reason he left from what I recall was he wanted to spend more time with his kid, which hey I don't blame him, but yeah his leaving was a bit of a deflation for the show, for S9 atleast, S10 I think got it back a bit with the new team having started to gel better and the new threat actually being established and having a lead baddoe to follow in Adria.
Continuum is the one where Ba'al goes back in time right? I liked it for a 2 part episode or a stand alone movie, but as the final entry in the SG-1 saga not so much, then again I may say that about anything which was the last entry to the SG-1 legacy, it was better imo than the series TV finale however.
Not seen Travellers either...so many bloody things to watch.
