Titans’ Starfire Will Wear Her Comic Book Costume in Season 1Although Titans hasn’t yet aired, the inaugural superhero show on DC Universe has already been renewed for a second season. However, fans won’t have to wait that long to get a look at a comics-accurate costume for Starfire. At Wednesday night’s Titans premiere, Anna Diop — who plays Starfire — told ComicBook.com that she would get a more comics-accurate costume as the first season progressed. “As soon as I put it on, everyone was flipping out,” she said. “It’s awesome because it’s something that so many people have seen for so long and it means so much to people and this is the first time we’re bringing it to life, but you know — our story takes its time. It takes its time, it’s an origin story, so it takes its time in the characters coming to this place where you see them and the way that everyone’s always known. I hope that the audience can be patient with us and have fun with us. It’s a ride, and it’s a fun one.” Exactly when and how Starfire will get her costume in the season is unknown. However, for those fans who were concerned about the lack of comics-accurate costumes on the show, this news will likely come as relief. Debuting Friday, Oct. 12, on the DC Universe streaming service, Titans stars Brenton Thwaites as Robin, Anna Diop as Starfire, Teagan Croft as Raven, Ryan Potter as Beast Boy, Alan Ritchson as Hawk, Minka Kelly as Dove, and Lindsey Gort as Amy Rohrbach. www.cbr.com/titans-starfire-comic-book-costume-season-1/

Not true we all waited 30 years almost after both Batman & Superman made it to the big screen to get the first ever live action team up or bust up between the last son of krypton and the worlds greatest detective and what did we get...we got dog poop.

Live action lives to disappoint. This is why I stick to animation.

Since these are behind the scenes I expect the onscreen appearance will get touched up with CGI. I hope Starfire turns orange.

I don't think she does because I don't think she was orange in the trailer.

Speaking of banned in Australia, do you know if the streaming service will be available in your country right away or not? By the sound of things it is not going to be available here in Australia for a number of years which is disappointing but we won't have to wait too long to see the DC Universe TV shows on Netflix and 'Titans' will most likely air here before the end of the year along with 'Harley Quinn' which I read in an article is going to be available for us to see soon. It is also worth noting I have read we are going to get 'Doom Patrol', 'Swamp Thing' and 'Stargirl' on Netflix in Australia but it probably won't be until a few months after they have been available in America.

Thanks for posting those articles and pictures hardball. Raven and Starfire look a lot better here than they did in the other photos I have seen of them and I am looking forward to seeing closer up photos of Starfire and most of all, Wonder Girl. I was discussing Wonder Girl with another member on here recently and I read in the 'Titans' universe Donna has been established for years and has a history with Dick that sounds like it could have been romantic at some point and I think s he will arrive in costume. Another thing I recently read about 'Titans' is Raven and Starfire are going to get more powerful as the show goes on and one of the writers said Raven is going to be a lot more powerful than she is now in Season 2 and it will be interesting to see what they do with her. I don't know if you have read the 'Raven: Daughter of Darkness' comic books by her creator, Marv Wolfman but she can do a LOT of things in that including some things she couldn't do before which Marv added.

I love how superficial peoples outrage tends to be, 35+ year old college professor banging his barely 18 student is gross and sickening, but they watch and ship things like TVD or Twishite, with centuries old men lusting after 16/17 year old girls, just because the vampire looks like they are roughly the same age.
If people were to get upset about the belly button I could see the argument being not that it sexualise's young children but it sexualised her an actual young girl, as she is just 14/15, and it is kind of odd if you ever seen an actress or actor on a show or movie and thought fuck me they are fit, then find out oh shit their just a kid, it can make you feel a bit icky, also odd how an arbitrary number can impact that shit, and if no one mentions it no one thinks about it.
I mean think about this did anyone feel icky about the Ivy character becoming more sexualised as they aged up the actors playing her despite her only looking older but still being an underage girl in the shows timeline?

Yeah. I agree with you about Poison Ivy in ‘Gotham’ and as much as I like Maggie Geha I wasn’t a fan of the way they portrayed the character throughout the show and I think they made a major mistake having her as a kid and then ageing her and if they wanted to have her become Poison Ivy they could have just had her as a student studying advanced botanical biochemistry and an eco-activist and had them play out her origin story with her professor, Jason Woodrue being the person responsible for Pamela’s transformation into Poison Ivy and Pamela becoming evil. Instead they went down a completely different path which was untrue to the character and the worst thing they did was take away her love of plants and that is one of Poison Ivy’s key traits and every fan knows she is obsessed with plants and environmentalism but they never showed that once in 'Gotham' when she was younger. I wasn't a fan of them changing the name from Dr Pamela Lillian Isley to Ivy either just like I wasn't a fan of them calling Selina Cat since it was basically a dead giveaway to anybody that knew her when she was younger that she is Catwoman.
With Poison Ivy they now have the problem of her being too much older than Batman when she is meant to be the same age as Barbara who was her best friend in same iterations as I have mentioned before and are they going to de-age her before the show ends when they go 10 years into the future and have Maggie Geha back playing the role or is she going to be in her 50s when Bruce is in his 30s? I am not sure how old she is supposed to be at the moment but Maggie Geha is 30 and Peyton List is 32 so it is very confusing how this is supposed to play out in the future.

My guess will be Ivy wont age due to whatever altered her, she'll remain young, or she uses the earth to keep herself young, something along those lines. I am with you I didn't like how they used the character, but this isn't meant to be copy of the comics, adaptation by design isn't meant to copy but reimagine original works, they just did a shitty job imo, one made worse by the show was initially meant to be an origin story sort of thing not a full on elseworlds, had they promoted it as an elseworlds show no one would have any justification about being pissed with the changes, Ivy I didn't mind as an allusion to the later Ivy but them recasting and mutating the character to get them there I disliked, unless they are going to do a Jerome/Jeremiah thing where this isn't the real Ivy but a proto-Ivy it just feels dumb and even then doing that for 2 characters also feels lame, plus for me I don't feel you NEED to include ALL Batman's known villians, especially when they clearly have no clue what to do with them. Got caught up over the weekend btw and fucking hell I literally stopped just before things started picking up, I miss Jerome though Jeremiah isn't as fun to watch, but not sure what they are doing with this season, I just cant wait for Barbara Keen to get killed I hate that character so much, she's never once been interesting in this show to me, so hoping she eats a bullet soon, probably will die saving Jim who will then somehow forgive all her past and name his kid after her oh well as long as she dead.

I think that is the most likely path they will take with Poison Ivy too and I know it wasn't meant to be a direct adaption of the comic books but I still think that would have been more interesting to see especially since we have never seen them play it out properly on screen before and hopefully that changes with the 'Gotham City Sirens' movie which we will be getting if 'Birds of Prey' is a success. I think Poison Ivy's powers are too costly to have in the TV show and we will most likely not see her at her full power if she appears again and looking at how they have Bane I don't think we will see him in his proper venom or Titan form either and they will probably just make the venom work like Miracudo on 'Arrow' and it will make him stronger but won't make him bigger and muscular which is disappointing 'cause I would love to see a Bane that looks more like he does in the comic books and Arkham games with green eyes, 13 foot tall and huge arms that can smash brick walls. I mean that Bane is more of a monster than a guy with big muscles and heaps scarier than the versions we had so far and you would need CGI for the height and the size of his arms and legs.
What were your thoughts on their version of Mr Freeze? I think he was one of the most disappointing adaptions too 'cause they basically turned him into a henchman for the Penguin instead of his own character and killing off Nora was a mistake 'cause that is the main reason he becomes a criminal in a lot of the comic books and why he helps Batman with other villains 'cause while he has done a lot of bad things and deserves to go to prison I don't think Mr Freeze is meant to be a proper villain and doesn't want to kill innocent people like the Joker does and only wants Nora back. I am looking forward to seeing Lady Shiva and hope she is in the next episode and I am still surprised she wasn't in 'Arrow' when they had the League of Assassins 'cause she was the most deadliest member of the group before she left and was a better fighter than Ra'. They could have had her take over the League after Ra' was killed off in 'Arrow.'

Yeah they fucked up on Freeze, he was interesting at first in his first few episodes prior to becoming Mr Freeze, funny to think though this version is more in line with the pre Batman TAS version where he was just more bland a villain, that show iirc is what introduced Nora and his motivations for being a villain.
With Bane if they can do it ala Hulk & Thanos then it's ok, but I also prefer a more Tom Hardy style Bane who is physically imposing and believably bad ass and is a normal dude, the venom just being able to supercharge the characters power and durability is fine for me, maybe add some sort of effect, like you see veins as a sign of the venom being pumped through the body, or they bulk up slightly but nothing huge, so you can show that by simply giving the actor lifts, or you know do the classic Hulk of one guy plays normal Bane bigger dude plays Venom Bane and let him have the lucha mask, I mean that's really such a simply thing anyway, imagine that you got I dunno a Braun Strowman to play the bulked up Bane, he's big enough to sell the power aspect.

They did and it was disappointing ‘cause Mr. Freeze is a very interesting character and I like him best when he is portrayed as a sympathetic villain who only does the things he does to try and save Nora and isn’t out to kill innocent people or take over the world like other villains. I don't mind the take over the world type of villains and would love to see more flat out destroy the world villains who have nothing to lose or gain and just want to destroy everything until the world no longer exists like Imperiex 'cause we haven't had many villains like that in comic book movies or TV shows and there are quite a few of them in the movies. The Scarecrow was portrayed that way in 'Arkham Knight' and I loved that version of him with John Noble playing his voice and John Noble said in interviews he couldn't believe how evil and deranged the character and has never seen anything like it. That is where 'Batman Begins' really failed with him in my opinion and they humanized the character too much which made him far less scary and he should have been extremely twisted and deranged and stayed in costume with a disfigured face completely devoid of any humanity.
I am hoping the next time we get to see Mr Freeze he is handled better. I think Nora and him being a villain that hates the other villains and will work with Batman to take down other villains sometimes is one of the main things that separates him from the other villains but I found it funny he worked for Penguin in a way since most other versions I have read of him hated the Penguin more than any other villain but then they put Victor Zsasz with the Penguin and The Penguin was one of the reasons Zsasz become a psychopath in a number of his origin stories and he was a millionaire was screwed out of all his money while he was at the Iceberg Lounge and that and some other things that happened to him like having to live out on the streets made him snap. I didn't mind 'Gotham's' version of Zsasz but would like to see the more psychotic comic book version with scars all over his body he has cut for all the people he has killed who he believes he is saving and freeing them from life.

Tell me about it. Fucking prudes are everywhere around us hiding in plain sight ready to rev up that old outrage machine when they see something they don’t like or can’t have. You know what you gotta say. Fuck them and their Victorian views. If they can’t handle people showing skin they should go back to the sheltered background they came from. I will wear what I want and if I want to show off my tits I will show off my fucking tits. They’re awesome and if you have a problem with that you’ll find my knee has a problem with your groin. You should wear less. You're too good for clothes Princess.
