I'm kinda offput by how much Cable was nerfed in DP2. His gadgets were great but his strength level was seriously toned down. I mean, outside of his roboarm he seemed only slightly stronger than DP... and that doesn't sound right.

He will get more development, screentime and backstory in the next film, as per the writers and Brolin himself. He was nerfed but a lot of superheros are when they first appear like Thor, Cap, IM, Magneto. They gradually get stronger and show power displays much more impressive than on their debut.

Let's hope so. The MCU does have a knack for slowly powering up their heroes as the movies progress but the X-men films don't do it as much. Wolverine seemed pretty stable in terms of power level and even Magneto isn't too far off from what he was in X1 and X2.

Wolverines powerset is pretty narrow and limited although we do see him in later films survive nuclear blasts and Phoneix Force evaporation as my avatar shows. We only really see him healing and surviving stab wounds in the first 2 films. Magnetos in comparison (and Cable) is similar to Omega level/limitless so their power has to finely tuned and not from 0 to 100 in a second. And Magneto is shown lifting bridges, submarines and stadiums compared what he was doing in X1/X2.

Isn't Cable nerfed already? His whole thing is that he can't use much of his telekinesis because it is subconsciously keeping his techo virus at bay. Nate Grey shows how he would be if he didn't have the techno organic virus. And his powers don't extend to him having super strength.

Um, don't start with thatguy. he still cannot accept facts DOFP came before T2 and many articles have been written about how James cameron ripped it off when he had no money. he could not take the film destroying winter solider in 2014 so he deluded himself. LOL
Cable' does have super strength because his body is part metal now. That is fact.
Read the facts here on marvel directory, it also used to be on the marvel.com website. His strength level is higher than the average human.

Before posting that I looked around to see Cable's actual powers. None of them say he has super strength. They all say his actual powers is telepathy and telekinesis. Whatever super strength that has been shown could be attributed to him having a robot arm (he used that arm a lot in the movie for stronger punches) and/or telekinesis.
Okay, reading this one, it says that him using his telekinesis to keep his techo organic virus at bay augmented his body to raise his strength and give him a lil bit of invulnerability. But that's a Cable thing because of the virus.

I don't know exactly where you looked around because the first 5 links I get from a simple google search all mention he has enhanced strength and durability. This site which is the go to site for strength classes lists him as a Class 10, which means he's in the same level as Spiderman. www.marveldirectory.com/individuals/c/cable.htm

He basically Luke Cage-d himself using his TK.

And you can't accept the fact that DoFP THE MOVIE came out after T2. You also can't take the fact that nobody remembers DoFP THE MOVIE, but Winter Soldier is still highly regarded.
So what you are saying is that Cable doesn't have super strength, but the infected part of his body does.

2 lies in one sentence. how pathetic and sad.
Also its the opposite. see no one remembers TWS apart from MCU fans, its a generic spy movie in the real world of Skyfall or the bourne identity. the movie was forgotten after DOFP came out in a month and never recovered. if you think I am lieing, ask folks here, DOFP killed that movie just on performances and drama alone.
that is the reason even with TWS as the only decent serious mcu movie, it is still not enough for people take the entire mcu seriously. the same way they take the xmen movies or the nolan films seriously. not even winter solider could stop the now title of marvel comedy universe. that is how TWS was so quickly forgotten. it could not help MCU movie status as something serious.
You lied about Cable again? is mcu so bad and rotten to cinema that you can't even say one truth? Please this is pathetic.
Anyone knows people who are part androids or made of metal always had strength higher than the average human. its just pure science fiction. Next time, Do listen to James Cameron on how to make a good sci fi film not GOTG.

No one is talking about DoFP now. But people is still talking about TWS. I'll give you this: the only reason people will talk about DoFP is to say it is better than Apocalypse. Just accept that Bryan Singer uses other movies to make his movies. He's a hack and the only reason people even liked DoFP is because of a subconscious nostalgia for T2.
I like how I repeated what you said about Cable and you reply with I'm lying. Classic. And everyone knows that the parts that is metal is the part that gives them the super strength. An android is all robot. Not partially. Characters like Winter Soldier, who has a robot arm, is also fitted with a form of the super soldier serum making him all strong. But when you look at Spooner in I, Robot, he is only strong in the arm that is robotic. Having part of your body robotic doesn't automatically make the entire body stronger. In the article that you posted, it says that Cable is only strong in his shoulder and arm on that robot side. On another site, they actually say that he has made his body stronger subconsciously from his subconscious use of telekinesis to keep the virus from spreading. Doing so made his cells stronger which gave him super strength and invulnerability enough to survive a punch by the Hulk with minimal damage. Which would you rather go with it? If you say the one with just his one arm being strong, you just want to be contrary.

Technically everyone is talking about DOFP now, you see for the most and the majority that reject disney getting xmen, they back it up with movies like DOFP. a film disney does not have the balls to make and will not find childish for pg 13. that is why disney is loosing the argument among most real comic fans and film makers on getting xmen film rights.
In fact star wars is failing today because people can back up why they hate disney star wars with movies like revenge of the sith or return of the jedi and notice I did not have to name empire or a new hope?
meanwhile no one talks about TWS not even as proof that MCU can be serious and mature for once because their garbage comedy movies are now too infamous in a very negative way.
You can try and justify your BS about Cable. Cable being strong on shoulder is not relevant, neither was spooner. Cable can use his two arms to lift up more weight than the average human since he his part android. that tiny advantage they have, as some part of their body are made of metal still gives them a huge overall advantage to the average human in strength.
if you want to talk the techno virus and his use of TK to hold the virus back from taking over his body which will give me more strength. Ask fox to hire Mangold or Nolan or Spielberg to helm an Askani son movie. I was never a fan of cable in the deapool movies.

"Technically" everyone is talking about it? Nobody is rejecting the MCU. More people saw Infinity War than any X-men movie. All they have to do is put the X-men in a MCU movie then put them in their own movie and everyone will see it and love it. I think the biggest mistake Marvel could do is bring out an X-men movie after Dark Phoenix. I bet since they took the name off of Dark Phoenix and New Mutants, people will think that X-men fell off after Apocalypse. People think that we'll get less CBMs if X-men join the MCU when that is not true. Hell, 2018 is front loaded with MCU movies. They could easily slot an X-men movie in November... Wait, wasn't there suppose to be an X-men movie in November?
But you did name them...
Everyone talks about Winter Soldier. It's always in someone's top 5. It use to be at the top until Black Panther and Infinity War. You know who's top 5 it's not in? Contrarians. People that just want to go against what they know is right. And what everyone knows is right.
Having a robotic arm (he's not part android, android would mean that his mind is a robot) does not make his entire body stronger. You think if you got your leg amputated and got a robot leg that the other would be just as strong?
I'll ask Mangold while he's working on writing and directing that Boba Fett movie.

But I have been hardcore collecting all through the 90s until then. Mostly X-men family and Spider-man with some others for events. Mostly favorite artists for stuff like Image. 2nd and 3rd tier DC (Robin, Nightwing level characters), not so much with the top tier like Batman and Superman. My favorite characters in X-men were the X-men collectively and Nate Grey. Favorite artist was Joe Madureira, Chris Bachalo, Mark Bagley, and Greg Capulla. The highlighted artists could make me love any X-men comic.
