I want to see a Star Wars story that doesn't take place during the Prequel, Original or Sequel Trilogy, doesn't focus on Force users, only focuses on brand new characters and doesn't give us yet another underdog vs. galactic imperial conflict.
Throw us an idea!
Hmm. All right. Let's jump about 1,500 years before The Phantom Menace. Instead of an ensemble cast that's involved in a galactic conflict, we can focus on 1-2 lead characters dealing with a local one. Hmm. Here's something. It's a start. The main characters are two women who are cousins. They run a small business transporting supplies to remote settlements across the galaxy, although they mostly stay in a particular region where they have a lot of regulars. Naturally, they use blasters for protection.
One day, they learn that a small group of criminals attacked one of these settlements, killing a dear friend in the process. Much-needed supplies were also stolen, and the rest was burned to the ground. Since there's no local law enforcement, and the Jedi are busy handling galactic matters, these two cousins take matters into their own hands. They begin investigating by talking to locals and relying on old friends in the region for leads. An acquaintance of one of the criminals catches wind of their activities and warns the bad guys, leading to an ambush. The ensuing blaster fight leads to a handful of dead criminals and an injured one, who is taken hostage. His life is spared in exchange for information on the criminals' hideout.
The two cousins are able to sneak into the hideout. They soon learn that the one responsible for the death of their friend is off world, along with most of the stolen supplies. As they're collecting information on this new location from the computer, they're discovered, causing them to become separated as they fight for survival. One escapes while the other is captured. The escaped cousin goes into hiding at the home of an old friend. The friend had initially been fearful of fighting these criminals because he had a family to look after. However, upon learning that his dear friend was captured, he summons the courage to assist the cousin on her mission.
They boldly return to the hideout, only to find it deserted. As they leave in utter frustration, they trip a sensor, forcing them to outrun the bomb! As they catch their breath on the ship, they quickly leave the planet to go to the second location the cousins discovered on the criminals' computer. Fortunately (how convenient as I'm ready to quit this bitch ;B), everyone's still here. Shocker, I know. Anywho, they free the other cousin, kill the bad guys and bring the supplies back to the remaining people in the settlement. The day is saved... yay. o<|8o)~ The two cousins revisit the land of their deceased friend and pay their respects. They thank their friend for his heroism. And then they resume their work as supply runners.
I move for a vote of no confidence in Chancellor Kennedy's leadership.
