No thread here for L&O?! My favorite show of all time, I decided to go ahead and start one. Surely there are fans of it here, and who still watch it on reruns all the time. Discuss it here.

I admit I did not like Jack McCoy at first. He was a self righteous jerk who needed to be taken down a notch. Over the top who cared about winning more. And really wished that Lt Van Buren at times would had put him down to earth. If the police were not doing things in his point of view. Wonder why someone did not punch him in the mouth as he crossed way too many lines. Like the time Mike Cutter his new E.A.D.A. when McCoy was promoted was by an inmate. But then he mellowed out and really except for a few times in the 2000-2010 era there. He got a lot more nicer. Seems like age

I watch all the time. Lennie & Carmichael my two favorites. They had some of the best lines.

Love the show, miss when TNT would do all afternoon and all federal holiday long marathons. Loved McCoy from the start, not so much with Ben Stone, rewatching the earlier years I like them both the same, just differently.

There's a person over on reddit-television who has a thread stating L&O does not hold up & that it's gross. It's gross because he says the cops flagrantly disregard police procedures, & they always get away with it. And apparently it's not realistic. This person apparently does not get out in the real world. And he must not have watched many episodes, since it's shown how many times where the evidence is thrown out because of it being tainted or obtained illegally. Logan being shipped off to Staten just for punching McCormick...er the councilman. Not to mention how many episodes could easily fit into today's world: McCoy taking on the gun manufacturer, the healthcare system, the prison system, etc. The OP on that thread must live in a bubble.

LOL, this is one of the few police shows with a realistic depiction of how the system works. When the cops do obtain evidence unlawfully, it usually gets tossed, and the police always did things fairly by the book compared to other cop shows. It is still very relevant and realistic even though it’s been off the air for 8 years, brilliant show.

I love the TNT marathons, late night and early mornings, I miss when they would put them on during the day. McCoy and Stone are both awesome, McCoy was much more fiery and passionate while Stone was very stoic and professional. I love both of them. Did anyone see the SVU episode this season where McCoy gave the eulogy at Ben Stone’s funeral, great scene and great tribute to Stone, it was the episode that introduced Ben Stone’s son Peter as a new character on SVU.

Dennis Farina was the best detective, and the best show was in the last season guest-starring Anna Gunn
