It looks like a pork chop, I prefer pork butt(?), as pork chops tend to be a bit on the dry side.

I've seen BETTER-LOOKING steak and pork chops than that. And I'm POSITIVE I've eaten BETTER-TASTING as well.

I'd have guessed pork chop, from the color and general appearance of the crisped fat around the edges. But, the shape says "steak."
I suppose that it could, actually, be molded "Play-Doh," covered with Vaseline, paint and who-knows-what-else. They do some bizarre things with food photography.

This may be a regional thing butt in my world a chop always has a bone in it and so a boneless piece of meat is called a 'steak'.

goz It must be a regional thing. The only thing called steaks up here come from cow. I think it must be, because here we have pork steaks, veal steaks, lamb steaks and they are always boneless, hence it is the cut of the meat and not the source. Also, if it has a bone in it, it is a chop....same thing with the cut. It could be a lamb chop pork chop beef chop etc.

That is definitely pork and not beef. Well, I was talking about the cut and it could also be what we call 'yearling' steak which is a lighter colour ( more like veal) than the traditional beefsteak. Also, you are right, it could be pork.
