I'll stick with the James Mason/Judy Garland version.

I'll stick with the James Mason/Judy Garland version. I did get a good chuckle at them using the "I'm not beautiful" cliche when it's Lady friggin Gaga. Not a fan of her music at all but she remains a striking woman.

You haven't seen which earlier version? Which earlier version, the Gaynor, Garland, or Steisand earlier version?

A Fun Fact about the 1976 Streisand "Star" is that before Kris Kristofferson was cast, Streisand (who also produced along with Jon Peters) tried to get Elvis Presley for the male lead. By that time, however, Elvis had been stoned for about a decade and his manager, Col. Parker knew he couldn't handle it so turned Barbra down on Elvis' behalf. Still, it is interesting to speculate on how that might have turned out.
