Any fans of this album by Slayer? How has it held up after 20 years?
Many consider this to be one of the worst, if not the worst, albums by Slayer. That's mainly because the band allegedly adopted some "nu-metal" stuff in their sound at the time. But I will say that I think it's a good album by Slayer. Is it one of the band's finest albums? No, there are plenty of Slayer albums that are better. But I don't think it's as bad as fans make it out to be. I still think it's a good album in general and a good Slayer album. It still sounds like Slayer to me as far as the sound, lyrics, and band member performances go. In terms of this "nu-metal" sound that people talk about, I don't think it's as bad as fans make it out to be. It's definitely the most experimental album Slayer has done, but this experimentation isn't bad in my opinion.
This album is known for songs like Bitter Peace, Scrum, Screaming From The Sky, and Staind of Mind.

I don't hate it, but then again, I was a nu-metal kid at the time of it's release, so I was predisposed to enjoying it. Having said that, I can definitely see why it has the reputation it does.

I don't think it was that bad. Though it is my least favorite album.
