I know it's not out yet but it's coming! I expect there to be 40 participants by next Sunday, dammit!

8.5/10
I voted 9. This is a 10/10 until the last 20 or so minutes where it becomes pretty generic and, to be quite honest, very disappointing for a finale.
Still, the rest of the movie before the end is fantastic and there is one scene that ranks among the best I've seen in an animated movie.

Sounds like Brad Bird was forced to rush things a bit....
Following the release of Incredibles 2, director Brad Bird acknowledged that the film's truncated production schedule resulted in many plotlines and ideas he had for the film being cut from the final version. He cited Pixar's decision in October 2016 to swap the release dates of Toy Story 4 and Incredibles 2, which meant that Bird’s film lost a full year of production. Bird stated that the lingering plotlines could lead to a third installment, just as they did with the second. "There were a lot of ideas that we had on this film that could be [used]... whether it's another Incredibles film, or something else." Cast members including Samuel L. Jackson and Sophia Bush have expressed interest in reprising their roles. "I wouldn't ever rule it out," said producer John Walker of a potential threequel. "And if past is prologue, it'll be another 14 years — and a lot of people will probably need oxygen to make a third one."

That's disappointing. I'd expect that kind of shenanigans from WB, not Pixar. I expect more of them.

Just saw it today.
8/10
Not sure if I prefer it to the first, but damn it was close. The original just had a better story and was more creative for its time, IMO. Plus the villain reveal in this film was SO obvious. Though, this one has plenty more action and due to the enhancement of technology now, it looks much more polished and detailed in the animation.

9/10 there is one scene that ranks among the best I've seen in an animated movie. Which one? The scene with Elastigirl gliding over the city at night with the Screenslaver voice-over in the background. Very Batman-esque.

I hate to say that I found this one a bit disappointing. The villain's motivation was a mess, and as Sdrew mentioned above, the third act was really generic.

I hate to say that I found this one a bit disappointing. The villain's motivation was a mess, and as Sdrew mentioned above, the third act was really generic. After a rewatch it definitely does not hold up as well. After a home viewing I’ve changed my score to a 7.5/10. It’s still good, but that theater polish wears off and there’s not a lot beneath it.

Sadly, this is true. A good movie, but not the classic I had hoped for.

6/10, good but a bit disappointing. Here's a review I wrote earlier today. I put it in spoiler tags because it's a bit long, but it doesn't actually contain any spoilers. A solid movie, but one that never reaches its high potential. It tries to say a lot, but it's all delivered a bit too clunky and without any nuance and therefore loses most of its meaning. Elastigirl was great and easily the best character in the movie. She's the one character that really feels more fleshed out compared to the first movie. She has to carry most of the story in this sequel and she succesfully does so. I thought her main plot was great and every time we switched to another plot point I wanted to get back to her story. While not fantastic, I thought Winston and Evelyn were also pretty good and easily the best new characters in the movie. Speaking of new characters, I have no idea what all the other supers were doing in this movie. They added nothing to the story.
While Mr. Incredible's stay-at-home dad plotline was a good idea, it never really feels genuine. The only part where it (and the movie itself tbh) feels true and genuine is during the first act, which is easily the best act of the movie. I know it's a movie and no 'real' event or something like that, but after the first act everything just feels too scripted and predictable. Same goes for the villain, which I won't reveal, but also is very obvious. The villain's identity is revealed about 20 minutes too late, because by the time it is, I was just waiting for it to be done so we can move on with the story. All of the writing with respect to social commentary in general feels very scripted and clichéd. It's a shame, because the original movie was so clever in encorporating social commentary in its story. But here, there are so many messages that the movie wants to give you, but it never fleshes out any of them and in the end none of them stick the landing.
On a positive note, the action is phenomenal and the animation itself is also stellar. I haven't seen a 3D animated movie with such good looking action in a long time. And even when I wasn't the biggest fan of Mr. Incredible's plot (or basically any non-Elastigirl plot), the voice actors are so good and make every moment entertaining.
As I said, the action looks great. But the final action filled act is unfortunately also easily the weakest act. It feels generic and goes on for too long to remain interesting. I have criticized quite a bit of the movie in this short review, but that's mostly because I find it easier to communicate negative points than positive points. It's important to say that in general I enjoyed Incredibles 2 a lot. It's fun, entertaining and, while clunky, I does have important things to say (a lot more than most blockbusters). However, as a sequel to imo one of the best animated and superhero movies I've ever seen, it is a bit disappointing.
