Why can't people just ask questions and accept the answer given?

The reason men are "primary defenders" more often than women is because of the biological differences between men and women. Men tend to be bigger, stronger, and faster. Those things are important in combat. Hey! Alert*** Did you know that they have invented this thing called a gun, that EVEN a puny slow woman can use to kill other people? I hear they have lots of them in USA and they use them a lot.

Women can serve in the army (assuming they meet the mental/physical requirements, just as we'd expect of a man). I don't care. You guys sure do love to assume things that no one is arguing.

I stated a biological fact (which explains why more men are interested in military service than women). I didn't prescribe anything. You're either obtuse or intellectually dishonest. I suspect I know which is the case here.

I’d say whoever decides to become a primary defender should be one (whether they are male or female). The fact that men are generally more inclined to be primary defenders doesn’t mean that they should be by virtue of them being male. It means they should be by virtue of the fact they chose to do that. To suggest that irrespective of context or choice, men should be primary defenders just because they are male would be detrimental. There are many societies where it is obligatory for young men to be soldiers. They are not given a choice. And women are not allowed to be soldiers. I take it that you disagree with this and feel that any requirement for military service should apply equally to men and women. That is correct. The branch of military that I serve in is for the most part equal opportunity. There are literally only two out of hundreds of jobs in the US Air Force that women are not allowed to do, and it’s basically our version of special forces (Combat Controller and Pararescue). Other than that, women can volunteer for any job (from security forces to fighter pilot), and the US Military is an all volunteer force for men and women.
