But they apparently cut out a scene explaining that. In J.A. Bayona’s Jurassic World sequel, Daniella Pineda plays Dr. Zia Rodriguez, a former Marine and paleo-veterinarian who visits the deserted theme park with Chris Pratt and Bryce Dallas Howard’s characters. In the film we don’t learn much about Zia besides her science knowledge and her excitement at seeing dinos in the flesh. But apparently, she was originally supposed to have a scene that references she’s gay.

Seems pretty unnecessary to include that anyway. Nobody is really going to see a Jurassic Park movie for the sexuality of the human side characters.

It would unless it was to further the plot.
Jurassic Park has nothing to do with relationships. The Lost World did as a plot device for why Ian Malcolm was eager to get to the island and that was about it. Jurassic Park 3 also used it a plot device for why the married couple were trying to find their son.
But for Zia to be revealed as a lesbian...why? It seems pointless and that's why they cut it from the looks of it.

I’m not arguing with your point about how unnecessary relationships are in these movies, but I’d imagine the reason they cut the lesbian scene out was probably so that the movie would have a better chance in the overseas markets. Keep in mind that Beauty and the Beast either got banned, or received an age restricted rating in several countries just because of a blink and you’ll miss it scene of two men dancing together near the end.
