We love a good villain in the movies, but sometimes the henchmen/henchwomen steal the show. Whether they say a lot or a little, be zany and over-the-top or restrained and sneaky, somehow they make a memorable impression. Who are the best as well as your personal favorites?

The two obvious picks, the that stick out, are the henchmen from JOE KID and FLESH+BLOOD
JOE KIDD, for those of you who think Clint Eastwood only did those terrible, uninspired, dull Westerns, is one of three good ones that snuck in there (Hang Em High is undeniably his best, and this one ties with Pale Rider for the other two decent Clint Westerns.)
Unlike Clint's goofy Westerns for Beavis and Butthead, this one has some interesting and credible characters. The three henchmen are a varied group. The most innovative villain is Mingo, played by James Wainwright, whose only skill is long distance sniper shooting. He's a marksman more than anything else, instead of the usual "hey, my villain is a demi god at everything" type that Hollywood has used for a formula since 1965. Led by Duvall, the three henchmen about steal the show, but they all play off each other professionally, and it shows in a group of perhaps the most interesting group of villains in film history.
FLESH+BLOOD is hard to classify in terms of villains. Technically, the mercenaries in employment of the cardinal are the villains in movie terms, but it's up in the air, as all characters have great motivation. In fact, the two of the three most likable characters are a pair of homosexual mercenaries (the third is an officer named Hawkwood in service of the local baron, and he's based on a real life historical character).
