I liked the first film but I think most people wrote it off as a niche film for an select audience;never mind similar works doing better as that's a whole other discussion. So when a sequel was announced, it probably took a lot of people aback (I was surprised) and figured "Eh, the people who saw the last one will go see it and then there will be a third one". Of course, they probably thought it looked like garbage.
I like both films but I can never stop thinking about Power Rangers when I watch them.
I liked both of them also. They were different. Different types of protagonists. And plot twists on the villains in the second one compared to the first. But I liked some of the upgrades. They both still feel like they belong to the same universe, which I like. No reboot vibes despite their differences.
