So this time the Indo Raptor was the main antagonist amongst the Dinosaurs. Another hybrid following the Indominus Rex.
Not as much of a focus in the movie as I thought though actually. After JP3 focused so heavily on the Spinosaurus and the JW focused even more on the Indominus Rex I was expecting the same but I suppose in hindsight the trailers didn't seem to imply that.
What did you think of it? I thought it was alright. The Indominus Rex has become pretty popular. I don't think that will happen with the Indo Raptor though that's probably going to be because it wasn't in it as much.
Also seemed like a step down going from a the Indominus Rex to the Indo Raptor when it's a fraction of the size.
It was alright though, pretty scary but they shouldn't have anymore hybrid dinosaurs.

I thought it was actually a step up from the Indominus Rex. The effects work was really good in its scenes and the design was more menacing.

The rooftop scene was BAD. It was ludicrous how they tried to get it to pounce and fall through the glass- whilst Chris Pratt slid underneath it!? 🤪

I thought nothing would be dumber than the Indominus Rex...
Indoraptor..."Hold my beer."

Loved the horror approach to it, but they need to stop doing hybrids.
Hopefully part 3 does something different.

I liked it better than the Indominus Rex. It was pretty creepy, like a horror movie monster. I'm also glad that they didn't focus on it too much.

I thought it was pretty good. I enjoyed the General getting outsmarted. It looked menacing, like a dragon.

It was okay, but I tend to agree with Hauntedknight87 here. What's with the big bad dinosaur in this one being a hybrid? The first JW at least had a reason for the Indominus Rex being one. Dinosaurs are plenty intimidating as they are; hybrids are overkill. However, I liked the creepy slow-burn scenes with the Indo Raptor in the mansion. It felt like the movie I more or less expected from Bayona.

I liked the Indo Raptor. But I side with you. I'm a bit more of an Indominous Rex fan. Maybe because I'm also a Kaiju fan and Indominous is closer to one. Indominous was more like a Frankenstein's monster. They weren't sure what they had when they made it, and it wasn't even sure what it was. The hunting instincts of a raptor and the size of T-Rex. It died before it completely understood how much of a monster it could be. But I did have mixed feelings about it hunting for sport. I don't know where that would come from. Indo Raptor was more of an extra large Raptor on steroids. It was a weaponized dinosaur. They bred and trained it to be a killing machine. It was definitely more agile and athletic. But it lacked the shear destructive size and power of Indominous, T-Rex, and Spinosaurus. Overall I thought Indo was still very cool. And at least it wasn't a cheap ripoff of some previous dinosaur in the franchise. And you're right, the story didn't center around it until it broke loose more than halfway through the movie.

He was effectively intimidating for the time he had. He was pretty cool for the most part and actually seemed to have a little personality; a bit of a troll if you will. For example, that little "smirk" he gives just before killing Wheatley.
If there's one criticism I have, it's that he's introduced very late in the film. It was a little harder to root against him than it was to root against the Indominus Rex because there just wasn't enough time left to build up a "hatred" for it like there was with the I-Rex. Not that I wanted him to kill Owen, Claire, or Maisie, but I wasn't quite as fully invested in seeing him defeated as I was the I-Rex. The previous film introduced the I-Rex relatively early and gave us plenty of time to see how bloodthirsty she was and how much enjoyment she seemed to get out of acting violent for the sake of it, so when the film's climax rolled around, I very much wanted to see her eliminated. It was certainly awesome that she met her end in no small part because of the efforts of the franchise's two most popular dinosaurs.
