Or your favorites anyway.
Sadly it's very hard to do.

Or your favorites anyway. Sadly it's very hard to do. One of them is Artemesia Gentileshi.

Élisabeth Vigée Le Brun is the only one i can name without using google. And i don`t actually know if she is considered among the greatest but i like her paintings.

I can name two great British artists, Barbara Hepworth and Bridget Riley, and that's it.
Pretty poor, really.
I know of a few more, like Sarah Lucas, who are more modern, and not great, but I would struggle to make ten, to be honest.
I'd be interested to know who's regarded as the greatest American artist, or who vies for it.

I think she should be amongst one of the greatest. Thanks for getting me to look her up, Feologild. Controversy too in her life. The stuff of movies.

I think Andy Warhol would be named the greatest American artist, but that's just my opinion.

Mine would be
Georgia O'Keeffe Emily Carr Barbara Hepworth
arguably the best.
Pretty poor for me too, hope things improve for future generations!

Uh, Leni Riefenstahl obviously. Maya Deren, Thelma Schoonmaker, Lina Wertmuller and.... how about video director Floria Sigismondi? That's 5 just in the film industry.

*** Edit ***
Emily Carr as well - I didn't remember her at first, but I was reminded of her after seeing her mentioned.
