I refuse to believe his editing of "Noooooo!" into the Return of the Jedi bluray wasn't a direct middle finger to people who didn't like the prequels. "Nooooo!" is in every Saga film in important scenes. Luke in ANH. Luke in Empire. Luke in Jedi. Obi Wan in TPM (mirroring his death scene). Obi Wan and Qui Gin Jin (Force Ghost) in AotC.

If that were the case, there'd be no need to edit in Vader also saying it. Alas, Luke actually said "Never!". Which raises the question, does "Noooo!" need to be in every entry if it wasn't in one of the original trilogy's? Either way, Vader saying it simply does not work. What should have been the most devestating scene in the film made the audience laugh and was criticised by fans and haters alike. I think even Lucas isn't out of touch enough to not know this. Thus, it had to be an "F you". Sort of like making Jar Jar the cause of the Empire.

(sounds like the latter to me), we already have the real answer why Lucas had Vader say "noooo", consistency in rhyme and reason like with the "bad feeling" line. The genius. Your fallacy is False Cause. Jar Jar was never made the cause of the Empire, not in any sense of the word. Jar Jar was the useful idiot politically manipulated to finally initiate a senate vote (about establishing an army). The Senat voted for it. It's a similar manipulation as we see with the Queen in TPM when she moves for a vote of no confidence against her ally Valorum. Was she the cause of the Empire too? Or what we later see with Anakin. Thus why Palpatine is called the puppet master, the puppet are never the cause, they just follow the strings.

If it wasn't in Return of the Jedi, it wasn't a consistent thing to rhyme with in the first place. ---- And your fallacy is Red Herring. Nevertheless, I'll bite. The Senate vote was a little broader than establishing an army. It granted Palpatine emergency powers. Renember what happened when your fellow Australian Adolf Hitler was given such powers? Thus Jar Jar caused the Empire. Being played by the only intelligent character across three movies doesn't exempt his guilt.

What was with the clips? I didn't particularly agree with the Hayden inclusion in Episode 6 as it seems odd Anakin would be presented as young while Yoda and Obi-Wan are both still old...especially since Anakin died/redeemed himself when he was old too. In terms of what Lucas said, he wasn't disrespectful of fans. He wasn't nasty towards the fandom like Disney has decided to do specifically since the release of Episode 8. All he said is that it wasn't fun for him anymore and he decided not to do it anymore. He didn't call anyone a racist or a misogynist. He didn't say they had no taste or that they should look at seeking therapy. He didn't say any of that. As the OP mentioned, he just defended his decisions with his movies. I didn't always agree with those decisions he made, but he wasn't hurting anyone with horrible accusations. It's not the same thing. He took the high ground. Why would he add "Nooo"? Why would Anakin suddenly be young? "Your father... was seduced by the Dark Side of the Force. He ceased to be Anakin Skywalker and BECAME Darth Vader. When that happened, the good man who was your father was destroyed. So what I told you was TRUE... from a certain point of view."From a "Saga" standpoint, Hayden being in Jedi makes so much more sense than a wrinkled old man who was in the movie for all of two minutes. Of all the lazy, stupid anti-prequel talking points, this is one of the dumbest.

Yeah, he rolled with the punches by trolling the "fans" by doing such things as adding a Vader "Nooooo!!!!" to the RotJ Blu Ray.

Yeah, he rolled with the punches by trolling the "fans" by doing such things as adding a Vader "Nooooo!!!!" to the RotJ Blu Ray. Yeah, he did it to "troll" you personally rather than something he subjectively perceived would improve the film and add symmetry with other installments of the saga. Unlike Rian "with an I" Johnson who literally did troll thousands of people on twitter and had to delete twenty THOUSAND tweets just to save his career. But Lucas is the unprofessional asshole and troll. Got it.

The man had more class than your pitiful little band of Disney hacks put together. The man had more creativity in one finger than all current Disney kiddy franchises ever will have. (maybe sans Pixar but that came from Lucas too). Deal with its Crepy. Instead of your iconoclastic whining and worshipping of sliced raccoon & bantha turds you should go inside and rethink what George Lucas gave the world.

I guess Rian should have been nicer to the people threatening to boycott any movie he directs in the future, who put death threats on a birthday message to Kathleen Kennedy, and who drove both Daisy Ridley and Kelly Marie Tran off social media.

Actually, yes. He should've been a professional and not lowered himself to back-and-forths with anyone trolling while representing the Disney brand, let alone countless thousands of times -- and to the point that he's had to delete twenty thousand tweets? Evidently you're more proud of his tweets than he is, kiddo. Because the ones you're defending? He deleted.

Even though Vader is wearing a mask, his body language really sold that transition back to the light side of the force when he was watching Luke being electrocuted by the Emperor. Didn't need any line of dialogue at all. Don't try to rationalize it or justify it in anyway.

I don't like it either. It's actually the reason I don't own the movies on Blu-ray. But Tristan's Journal isn't an idiot for finding meaning in it. Innit? ETA: and, in fairness, I didn't have a Blu-ray player until I got an Xbox One in like 2016. So it's not like I've been boycotting them for eight years or anything. I mainly just don't see a need to buy them. (But I do agree that most of the majesty and power of that scene in Jedi is ruined by the insertion of the "no.")

That said, I am not fan of how current Lucasfilm regime is reacting the the negative feedback they have received over the past few years. Calling detractors man-babies, sexists, etc. is not going to any mend any bridges and will in fact only alienate other more level-headed fans who are critical of the films. I see a lot of posters repeat this, but I have yet to see anyone at Lucasfilm actually do this. The only one who comes close is Rian Johnson on Twitter, but I don't even think he has called any fans those specific terms.
