I "borrowed" the thread from the 90s section and thought since there was no one placed here, I think it would be fun to have a place to post and discuss their fond memories of the music from the 00s.
Anyway, I start up with a few cuts from an album I purchased on impulse back in spring of 2003, which turned out to be one of my favorite music years and also music discoveries as the danish rock band MEW and their album Frengers (2003) was a big success for my part. A very melodic and impressive record where there are absolutely no fillers and while I never really did end up exploring more of their later releases, I always come back to the spring-summer of 2003 and these great songs:
Am I Wry? No
156
Symmetry
She Came Home for Christmas
Comforting Sounds

Not sure if they ever scored another huge hit as big as Rapture (2001) but it was surely one of the most played songs on radion back in late 2001 and winter 2002. Loved the futuristic Blade Runner sci-fi themed video style along with the stunning Nadia Ali. One of the songs which whenever I hear it, I somehow is reminded of Christmas time 2001, where me and my family was on a snowy vacation in the mountains and I had this great bedroom window view where I would listen to music (such as Rapture) and looking out at the beautiful nature scenery with a crystal clear night sky full of stars far above the snowy enviroment.
This song also got a numerous line of great remixes done as well, and my favorite has always been the fantastic Riva Remix which I think beats the original radio version with some distance. A truly great and very uplifting, dreamy trance classic.
