Doctor Strange. When Strange has Dormammu trapped in a time loop because he knew he would never beat him hand to hand was clever and well thought

The ending to Dazed and Confused. Felt like you were up all night with them and all of the lightweights are at home now and you and the remaining few were on your way to Houston to pick up those Aerosmith tickets. "Top priority of the summer!"

Sam Raimi has great endings- the ending to A Simple Plan might be the best movie ending ever.
End of About Schmidt is heartbreaking in its simplicity.
For a rarely seen film, I love the ending to White Bird in a Blizzard- just so sad and devastating.

Sunset Boulevard... for me the best closing line in movie history.
Gone with the Wind, I like how it ends on an uplifting note, but it has often been forgotten in favour of Clark Gable's famous line.
Back to the Future, another great closing line and builds into the sequel perfectly.

The ending to Wicker Park gets me every time right when that music hits (The Scientist by Coldplay). It's also satisfying when he breaks up with his fiancée too.
Another one is the ending to Nightmare on Elm Street. Nancy is getting in the car and roof pops up and it's the color of Freddy's sweater and they're all getting locked in and then the 1,2 jingle hits and boom the mom bites it.

The fountain Fight Club Donnie Darko LA LA Land (a romantic story without a happy ending... yay) La La Land is what I call happy sad ending. Both of their dreams came true, but sacrifices were made.

Possibly my favourite moving ending is in the Charles Bronson movie 10 to Midnight.
KILLER: "I'll be back, you'll hear from me. You and the whole fucking world!"
BRONSON: "No we won't." [shoots the killer in the head]

(Keep in mind, there are a handful of big movies I haven't seen. Also, I know I'm forgetting a lot of older movies) in no particular order
Fallen Memento Vertigo Apocalypse Now There Will Be Blood Shane The Deer Hunter The Shining The Conversation Se7en Dr. Strangelove... RoboCop (1987) Blow Out (1981) Psycho Barton Fink The Shawshank Redemption The Wild Bunch Cool Hand Luke The Usual Suspects Oldboy (2003) Videodrome (though I can't claim to understand it) The Game The Thing (1982) The Voices (the credits) Falling Down Sunset Boulevard The Graduate Starman The Gift (2015) Inland Empire (again, aside from actually understanding it) One Flew Over The Cuckoo's Nest The Silence Of The Lambs Monty Python And The Holy Grail The Sixth Sense (provided it wasn't ruined for you) No Country For Old Men (sue me) Twelve Monkeys Requiem For A Dream (despite how disturbing we may have found it) Enemy (2013)
I know I'm forgetting something
