Of course, when you look back on your life, you realise that it should have always been blatantly apparent, but Western society tends to normalise heterosexuality so much that the questioning of it often never even comes to mind until much later.
In high school, there was a girl (who I realise now I fancied) named Lauren who I would often assure myself that I didn't like, just really wanted to befriend. I began to worry in the first year of college, seeing as I was still a devout Christian, that I was gay. I would express such concerns to my then-best friend often.
It wasn't until 2014 that I realised my feelings for women were very much romantic in nature. Such occurred when a girl I had met online and interacted with often, and with whom I shared a ferociously affectionate and possessive friendship, revealed to me that another had taken an interest in her. I became immensely jealous, and was forced to thoroughly examine the nature of my feelings.
We began to date soon after, and I moved to California to be nearer to her. She was raven-haired and breathtaking, and, though we have since broken up, is a friend of mine to this day.
How did you find out the truth about yourself?

I was probably around...ten when I started having thoughts about males and females indiscriminately. But I was young so I ignored it at the time; I knew I wasn't gay, but I also knew I wasn't straight, and kinda just left it at that. It didn't help that of my only two living male role models, one was a bigoted redneck and the other was an uptight born again Christian. It became a lot harder to ignore when I hit the latter half of my teens, though. Like sixteen or seventeen?

When I realised I had feeling for my best friend (my Wifey) and all my celebrity crushes were women which was when I was around 8-9.

Probably my mid teens when I realised that I'd not had any crushes on girls in some years, and had to face the facts.

This is kind of embarrassing but I didn't realize I was bisexual until this past summer. I had always been attracted to both men and women but never thought of it as bisexuality until I was talking to a friend. It was like a light went off and I froze, then slapped my forehead when I realized how dumb I was.

This is kind of embarrassing but I didn't realize I was bisexual until this past summer. I had always been attracted to both men and women but never thought of it as bisexuality until I was talking to a friend. It was like a light went off and I froze, then slapped my forehead when I realized how dumb I was. No need to feel embarrassed about it, because it is just what you like and who you are as a human being. It's not something that is unusual or strange for you to feel this way. I think if you can sexually embrace both genders that is quite a wonderful thing. I would say there are more bisexual males out there than are known about. The controlled and conditioned constructs of society pander to heterosexuality, so at least a bisexual person can go the safe route if a choice is given to make a life with somebody. I'd say also, that bisexual fathers might be more understanding and compassionate towards their son's, regardless of what sexuality they turn out to be.
I am 100% homo and tried hard to sexually like chicks in my mind when I was younger; but I had to come to a realization that was just a no go zone for me. I pretty much knew that males made me feel sexy when I was in kindergarten. I have met several males that have confessed to me about wondering which way they wanted to go, and some females as well. They of course chose the safe route, but I suppose considering most of societies condescending and veiled homophobia, I don't really blame them.
Well that makes me feel a lot better. Thanks for helping to put things into perspective. It really means a lot to me.

It was when I was 17 and I let my best friend put a finger in my butt for LOLs. Normally when we did that it was a question of dominance when we wrestled but this time I took a certain pleasure in it and I kissed him. He bitch slapped me for it and called me every name under the sun. Luckily I soon afterwards found a guy who loved to toy with my ass while I kissed him. He died though of complications from blood poisoning and genital herpes and I remember crying so hard at his funeral that people whispered that I may have been his real lover and not his girlfriend Michelle. Michelle did find out about our extra curricular activities and bitch slapped me for it. I apologized profusely and offered to date her so she would feel better but she refused and called me disgusting names like Pillow Biter and Sore Ass. Later she came and apologized to me but had the audacity to bitch slap me again because of my fun with her dead boyfriend. To this day I avoid her because of her violence and I am not afraid to let others know about her abuse towards me.
