I believe it has. While it's a great source of information and media, and online gaming is great, I think the downsides are pretty bad that we should start to consider whether we would be better off without it, as great as it is. It has made people stupider, meaner and lazier. And it gives paedos and would-be terrorists an avenue to find eachother and share their evil ways. It also gives bullies an avenue to be mean to people for no reason in complete anonymity with no consequences. to me this is like asking if being able to read brought peole more bad than good. u can use almost anything to evil. or responsibly. internet is a gift. that mot everybody uses right, but its still a total gift to humanity. i dont even think it would “make people meaner”, those who say mean / intentionally hurtful things to others online would still be mean people without internet and would find another way to showcase that. its not the internet its them. internet just allows them more time before they get punched in the face for it...

Compared to some other technology I think it is more good than bad.
It has allowed instant access to immense amounts of information, rare books, movies, art, comics, as well information that establishment media would not want people to see. It allows people to talk to others around the world. Make money around the world too.
The downside has mostly been for establishment media. They have lost control of the message.
I believe that if big companies knew what the internet could be used for 20-30 years ago, they would have prevented its creation.

and you responded: Well you are a very selfish and inconsiderate person. Also very ignorant, because what you said doesn't make much sense.

and you responded: I guess that explains why you are one too.

The thing is, social media can feel too much for some, feeling locked in. When all it takes is a good 3-4days away & you realize the way out has been unlocked the entire time.
