I think it hurt, but then the plot itself was one of the weakest in the series. But to bring in voodoo supernatural stuff....that's not really what Bond should be about.

I forget, wasn't the voodoo some mental placebo having little bearing on actuality?
Anyways, I guess I've always thought so, which did add flavour to the film. Otherwise it's just a bunch of boring thugs.
It's in the middle of the 007 pack for me. Not bad, not great.

I've only seen bits and pieces of it But what I've watched so far, it doesn't seem to matter in the scheme of things. Just that weird ending of Geoffrey Holder laughing.

It was quite interesting, and it was in the book, so don't see why it shouldn't be in the film. the bit that baffles me - as with most Bond films - is when they're on that island with the heads with the guns in them - why didn't they just shoot Bond as well as the girl? WOuld have saved them a lot of bother.

WOuld have saved them a lot of bother. Well they could have shot Bond but then the movie and the franchise would have ended there. It happens on every film where the villain reveals his motive or whatever which gives the hero time to sneak an attack and win the fight.
