Yeah, you don't get to use the early days of the MCU as a part of your argument when the series has the Norse gods and talking raccoons now. The scenario is obviously different now. Of course, having that kind of discretion would require you using that the thing between your ears, assuming you actually have one. Keep failing, loser.
God, this is why I've grown to hate DC fans. So much as suggest that Batman can approached from a place that isn't ultra-dark and they act like you've just committed blasphemy. Which, by the way, is the only thing I was suggesting in the first.

I could've sworn you said you were done with me. What happened?
Don't worry, I've grown to hate people like you myself. I never said it was blasphemy to approach Batman from a lighthearted angle. My initial response to you was purely a snarky quip about a movie that was basically making fun of Batman.

Uh-huh. Yeah, I don't buy that. You were just out to prove me wrong, like always. You failed.

There was nothing to prove you wrong about with your initial comment. I was being a snarker. The reason I made that snarky remark was because I was annoyed at the idea that a Batman movie has to be a paradox of itself in order to work. That might not have been what you meant, but it brought to mind one or two articles I've read on the subject that I thought were ridiculous.

I can guarantee that's not what I meant. When was the last time Batman was fun in a live-action movie setting? Quit a while ago, wasn't it? That's my point. Modern filmmakers are so hyper-focused on making him dark and edgy that they've pretty much removed anything resembling fun, which is what comic books are supposed to be. Now they're making a rated R solo Batman film, because "OH! THE EDGE!"

If by "fun" you're referring to the last time a Batman film tried to be lighthearted and campy, the answer would be in 1997, with a film that pretty much killed the franchise.
Before you come to one of your annoying conclusions, I'm not saying that being lighthearted was the reason for B&R's failure, but there's no denying that the film was essentially a feature length toy commercial with silly one-liners, and some ridiculously campy villains who probably shouldn't have been so campy.
Besides, Batman at his core is a dark character. That doesn't mean that there can't be levity or even some genuine silliness in a Batman movie, but there's a reason that he's the Dark Knight.

You must have never seen Bruce Timm's Batman animated series.

Aside from the obvious fact that the series you're referring to actually was known for being full of dark moments, what the hell are you talking about. Did you miss the part where I specifically pointed out that you can still have lighthearted moments in a Batman story?
Why exactly are you MCU fans so keen on suggesting that B:TAS is the gold standard for Batman anyway? The series was fine, I guess, but it's been mimicked so many times that its not really that special these days, and it also spawned Harley Quinn, who is a horrible character in every possible way. Besides that, I can no longer take anything about Bruce Timm seriously after that goddawful animated movie from last year. Batman should NEVER have any romantic relationship with Batgirl, nor should either of them have some kind of weird crush on one another. It's just self-inserting nonsense.

Wow, every time I start to have some semblance of respect for you, you say something that makes it vanish again.
Oh, and for your information, Batman: The Animated Series IS the gold standard for the character. Your opinion doesn't count. That series managed to both stick true to the core of the character AND it was a ton of fun. Also, it's not just MCU fans that like Batman: The Animated Series. The majority of Batman fans like that show. Nice attempt at stereotyping, though.
So, Bruce Timm finally had a miss and now he's just irredeemable to you? Yep, you're definitely from the current crop of DC fans.

So I'm required to view it as THE gold standard now? In that case, I guess that makes you an idiot (a bigger one anyway) for your opinion on TDK Trilogy.
Also, that wasn't the first miss Bruce Timm has had in my opinion. The New Batman Adventures was hardly what I'd consider a good relaunch for the show. Nice try though.
Besides, TKJ was a huge miss. There wasn't a single good thing about that piece of shit. It had bland animation, phoned in voice acting, terrible dialogue, blatant misogyny, a horrendous caricature of a gay man, and an uncomfortable emphasis on sex. The entire movie felt like it had zero effort put into it.
The film pretty much encompasses Bruce Timm's biggest problems. He's really fixated on incorporating his fetishes into his work, and in a story that was already controversial for its handling of female characters, the last thing we needed was Batman having rooftop sex with Batgirl, or a line about the Joker sleeping with prostitues.

Batman has not to be funny. If you want a stupid version of the bat, than can watch this horrible lsd show with this laughable Adam West. Batman has to be dark and gritty and will it always be.

Because I'm tired of him butting into every little thing I say. I suggested that it's time to approach Batman for at least a somewhat lighter angle, and that's apparently an affront to him. Plus, he's also not able to handle me not seeing the conclusion of The Dark Knight trilogy as being as optimistic as Nolan wants us to believe it is. Basically, he's gone out of his way to be a twat.

I didnt read the whole thing..........but why doesn't his opinion count? In Weirdraptor's warped mind, no one's opinion counts, unless it agrees with his own. He's a moron and a troll. That's all there is to it. He comes to bizarre conclusions, and doesn't seem to realize that I don't actually have a problem with a lighthearted story involving Bateman, I just don't want it to be a full-on parody.

Yeah, the guy who responds just to argue with me doesn't have any room referring to me as warped. The only troll here is you. You're also the moron here. You can't seem to get it through your head that I was never suggesting that the next live-action Batman film needs to be full-on parody, just not a trip down manic depression lane.
