The Great Escape for sure. He’s great in anything I’ve seen him in tho. Strong personality. "McQueen had an unusual reputation for demanding free items in bulk from studios when agreeing to do a film, such as electric razors, jeans, and other items. It was later discovered McQueen donated these things to the Boys Republic reformatory school, where he spent time in his teen years."

The Magnificent Seven (1960) - 7/10
that's the only one I have seen of any real worth.
p.s. I have seen about seven of his movies in total.
I think that movie, along with the car chase scene, and McQueen in general are a little overrated as his image is built up but he's not as good as his image suggests he is.
p.s. I think someone like Paul Newman easily tops McQueen in overall presence/cool factor.
Yeah, I would assume that by default since when you hear the name 'Steve McQueen' it's obviously the one your referring to in general as I would just assume if someone was referring to the director, they should clearly state it otherwise someone would assume it's the famous actor.

1. Bullitt 2. Papillion 3. Hell is for Heroes 4. The Sand Pebbles 5. Le Mans 6. The Getaway 7. Junior Bonner 8. Thomas Crown Affair 9. The Blob 10. Towering Inferno
On Any Sunday - not really a movie, but a documentary, Steve McQueen is highlighted. Great doc about motorcycle racing back in the late 1960's and early 1970's. McQueen helped finance it.
King of cool, he made some great films. Le Mans isn't as much of a movie as McQueen attempting to express his love for racing and the synergy of man and machine. I love it.
