Certainly one of the pivotal sitcoms in American television history, but does anyone here still watch or enjoy it?

9/10 - The early seasons were hilarious. The show started going downhill after Mike and Gloria left.

8 out of ten. there are snippets of greatness and wonderful acting: I always loved that transvestite performer who became friends with edith. and I love how she reacts [up yours god] when he gets attacked . if only the show was as funny as when archie went on tv about gun control in the airplanes.

8/10. It was good until the Stivic's left. Once they brought that little girl in the show just got bad.

I gave it a 9/10. The early seasons were incredible. Like any show, the show lost its edge.
Amazing that a character like Archie, who was openly racist and bigoted became lovable. Not an easy trick.

You're right about Archie, but I once read an interview with Carroll O'Connor and he discussed those concerns when considering taking the part. He told Norman Lear that he'd only do it if Archie's bigotry came from a place of stupidity rather than hate. Lear agreed, and that's likely the reason Archie did become a well-loved character.

Forty years ago I'd have given it a ten. I saw an episode about fifteen years ago and found everyone obnoxious and cartoonish. It gets a six today.

9/10 - The early seasons were hilarious. The show started going downhill after Mike and Gloria left. Good, but in my opinion not as good as the British show it was based on. The same goes for Sanford and Son. British shows, even comedy, tend to be darker, more realistic, while Americans like to lighten and clean-up the shows.

10/10 - one of my favorite television shows of all time. This is pertaining to all the seasons with the Stivics still there full-time.

I think about All in the family more since Trump has become president. Trump reminds me so much of Archie, except Archie was more truthful and self-aware.

Recently watched the episode about the draft dodger having Christmas dinner with the Bunkers. Still very powerful and emotional.
