Quote from a film possibly B&W, possibly done in the 50s as I saw this on TV quite a while ago. A girl brings her boyfriend home to meet the family for the first time. I believe dad was a widower. Sitting at the dinner table, the subject of religion come up at which the boyfriend says that he doesn't believe in God. Daddy says, "Do you deny the existence of God?", to which the boyfriend responds, "I don't deny it. I just don't believe it"
After edit, August 28th.
That is the exact quote I was looking for, but it may not be the film I remember. OTOH, I may be mixing two similar films. Since I was looking for the quote, I'll give it a "solved".

Sounds like something Atkins would say in Inherit The Wind but that was 1960, 1961 I think.
