That's a tough one because I don't think she's that great at either.

I picked Acting because she won't be "hot" (i.e. young) forever, yet she will always have her talent.

Acting. She's certainly pretty. Yet really, I was never drawn to her like her contemporaries like Emma Stone or Anne Hathaway.

Acting. She's attractive for sure, but I don't have a raging hard-on for her like I do for some other actresses.

I wanna say both but I guess I’ll go with acting.

Cool, you can see the future? That would hardly be necessary. Acting talent, especially in a born natural, only increases with age. No, that is incorrect. Acting talent can definitely decrease in quality with time. And why are you equating hotness with being young? There are many hot older women. Never heard of MILFs?

No, that is incorrect. Acting talent can definitely decrease in quality with time. Examples? I made no comment on hotness at all. In fact, I never do as I think focusing on an actress's looks is superficial and sexist.

But how is it superficial and sexist to appreciate someone's beauty? That makes no sense. Wouldn't it be sexist to not show appreciation? mikef6 , why are you equating hotness with being young? There are many hot older women. Never heard of MILFs?

Arya from Game of Thrones Jared Leto Charlie Sheen Arya from Game of Thrones:
Bad choice since she's too young to have ever established a career worth judging. And the writing of a role cannot be underestimated when judging the quality of a performance--actors can only work with what they are given, and if they aren't given much, they can't show their skills.
Jared Leto:
You are simply out of your mind. He just won an Oscar a few years ago in the later part of his career. Are you high?
Charlie Sheen:
Another ridiculous choice since most of the recognition he got as an actor came in the later portion of his career, which is the exact opposite of what you are trying to prove.
In short, I don't think you will ever be able to give an example of an actor everyone agrees has declined in his or her skills over time. Keep in mind, that is a completely separate issue from a career declining. People can make bad career choices. A person's appearance is one of the least important or interesting things about them. I admire actors for their charisma and choices of projects, not how they look.

mikef6 , why are you equating hotness with being young? There are many hot older women. Never heard of MILFs? I didn't and wasn't. That is why I put the word "hot" in quotes. Equating hot with young is the meaning of all these "hot" threads. I was commenting on others' definition of "hot."

It can decline, but rather to health reasons, or mental issues. Example: Marlon Brando. But even when he was already in a borderline state, hardly co-operation with the director, hardly caring for what he did, he pulled off a performance like in "Apocalypse Now", but in general his acting declined for he no longer really cared, made bad choices and last but not least his life-style took his toll. Robert de Niro is also an example: poor movie choices with lackluster performances. Does it matter if his skills have declined or not, if he no longer cares to show them off? An athlete who is no longer fully committed to his sport, will decline in his performance no matter how talented, skilled and experienced he is, even if he is by age in his prime. And at some point, if you let go yourself for years, you might have really lost some of your acting skills. But Leto is hardly such a case.

Well of course she can't help the bad writing. But pretty much all the other actors were still able to deliver good performances despite the writing quality drop. Haha. You use the Oscars as a guide for what is good or not? Wow, that's sad. The Oscars don't mean chit. I assume you're talking about his performance in Dallas Buyers Club. It was a clear "give me an award" role. It's sad that you could not see that. And his performance as the Joker was a joke. So bad that I actually felt bad and embarrassed for him. I don't know what you're on about. He became a drunk/drug addict weirdo in the later portion of his career and didn't really do anything apart from that terrible Half Men show. Wrong. As I already did just that.
