A few missteps, but otherwise a thrilling survival story that puts you fully in the world of the protagonist.

A 7 for me, I enjoyed myself, but it's hardly a memorable movie.

It was okay. Not much of a story. Tried to be symbolic. The visual effects were amzing though. Sandra Bullock was fascinating but George Clooney's acting was the same ole characterization he always does. He just wasn't a convincing astronaunt because he'd rather act like a Romeo.

Let me tell you my experience. I actually really didn't like Gravity when I first watched it (probably a 5 out of 10). I saw it at home on dvd. I thought it looked incredible , but I couldn't help but feel bored after a while. And I found that weird, because I love space and space movies. The second time I bought the 3D blu-ray version and I watched it at home at full volume and with all the lights turned off. It was like I was watching a completely different movie. I was on the edge of my seat the entire time and every single element elevated the movie like the music, the acting, the absence of sound. My opinion usually never changes so drastically after watching a movie for a second time. I think this is a movie you need to see at full volume like a theater experience. It's still one of my biggest movie-regrets that I haven't seen this in theater's.

Some people thought it a masterpiece at first, but then they came back down to earth.

Re-watched it. I change my rating to a 6, a decent film. I hated it the first time but I really appreciated it's snazzy camera work, cinematography, and stunning visuals. Still, I think the movie is overrated, but it is worth a watch or two.

The 3D experience was amazing. It was breathtaking and beautiful. The story is pure, simple, we know little about the characters, which is fine. It's not a long film. The effects are perfect. On home tv, the experience does not have the same glorious impact and yet it is such a well crafted and acted film I enjoyed it almost as much. 9/10
