Despite getting trashed by critics, Marvel’s Iron Fist appears to be a hit in terms of popularity on Netflix. The kung fu superhero show is generating higher demand than Marvel’s Daredevil or Jessica Jones did in their launch week, according to Parrot Analytics, and it’s falling just short of Luke Cage. That’s pretty good, given that Luke Cage was the 16th-hottest show across all platforms in 2016. Third-party analysis is necessary because Netflix doesn’t share viewership data, except in selected cases. Parrot tracks viewership by evaluating streaming video, P2P-sharing, social chatter, and more. (The company assures us that it is able to distinguish between positive and negative social chatter to avoid potentially overrating a show like Iron Fist.) Here’s a comparison of demand for Netflix’s four Marvel shows in the days leading up to and after launch: Meanwhile, here’s how those shows have tracked over time, with “Iron Fist” being by far the most popular right now: Source Inverse

So much for Iron Fist being Marvel's first flop.

This is good news.
Now I've been a fan of everything MCU, and please check out my prior posts etc. I'm a major MCU fan.
I wanted to qualify that before I said that I've loved the first half of Iron Fist, but the second half I'm not so sure about. This new version of the hand just isn't that interesting to me. It's just some pretty weak kids. Also he captured Madam Gao easily as hell earlier. It took me awhile to accept while Danny was so weak compared with his comic book self, but I now buy that he simply wasn't trained to use his new power, but I don't feel any real threat going on. Bakuto isn't intimidating.
