Audioslave is a favorite of mine as well. I believe Marvel used Cochise in some of the marketing for the first Iron Man film and it was a perfect fit. Soundgarden is my favorite grunge-era band. I think they were miles ahead of Nirvana. I agree . I really like Nirvana, but Soundgarden is the superior band.

I think they were miles ahead of Nirvana. The only reason Nirvana outperformed Soundgarden commercially was because Kurt really knew how to craft a perfect pop song. The one time I actually saw Nirvana live, Kurt performed two songs and wondered off somewhere. The show was canceled when it was discovered that he'd fallen asleep under the stage in a narcoleptic fit. Soundgarden was not necassarily the "hardest" band of the era but they were "heavy" AF. King Animal is a highly underrated record. It has some of their most brilliant music - couldn't believe it when some of the critics turned in lukewarm reviews. I agree. I really like Nirvana, but Soundgarden is the superior band. In fact, they're my third favorite all time band. (Behind The Doors and The Beatles). It was a really sad/shocking day when Chris died. It was disturbing how little national coverage it got. I recently read they're putting a statue of him up at Seattle Center. So that's pretty cool. I love Nirvana as well but, I agree that Soundgarden was the superior band. Nirvana was just a touch too nihilistic and self-aware. Soundgarden's anthemic melodies and complex song structures are more rewarding to listen to. Cornell and Thayil created sonic landscapes you get lost in and Shepherd and cameron were a knock-you-on-ass rhythm section.

The only music I like is 80's Pop music. I'm not sure why, I wasn't even born in the 80's but I have almost no like for any music that came out ever since, especially now.
One of my favourite songs ever is Girls Just Wanna Have Fun and I'm a grown man.

I agree . I really like Nirvana, but Soundgarden is the superior band. I love Nirvana too. I'm just a bigger Soundgarden fan. In fact, I was outside Kurt Cobain's house a few months ago. There's a park right next door where fans keep a constant mini shrine on the benches. It's pretty cool.

There was even a little dabbling in pop - their cover of Devo's Girl You Want is bitchin. When I heard Seasons (off of the Singles soundtrack), I knew Chris was going to make rock history.

I was just listening to Oh, The Guilt (split 7" with the Jesus Lizard) and Kurt was a demon on that guitar. That riff is terrifyingly good and it's pretty much the whole song.

I haven't really heard much of his solo work. I know he had 3-4 albums. Any good? I think they are good but, most would probably consider them uneven at best. If you're looking for something that sounds like Soundgarden, his solo work would not be it. His records are very personal and low key (not counting the very misguided Scream). His last one, Higher Truth is my favorite. Based on my interpretations off the songs, we seemed to be at a similar intersection in life at that particular moment in time so, I felt I could relate to it more than his previous solo outings (which are largely about becoming a father, dealing with fame and, recovering from addiction). Each record does manage to yield two or three uniquely good songs regardless of whether or not they are covers or originals. For some people, his solo work is their first introduction to him as an artist. When they traverse his back catalog with Soundgarden, it must feel like getting a freezing cold glass of water thrown in their face.

He is indeed banned now, his IP address was checked and it was an exact match for Formersamhmd. I don't know about the Thatguy / Bud47 one but the former was never banned so even if he did make a sock it's not an issue. LMAO IP checked was the same
