The "SCREAM" Movie Franchise is pretty popular. I hope that it will eventually at some point get it's own sub-board here. What about everyone else ?

I love the original trilogy, but I thought the fourth movie sucked and the TV series was a mess. Not sure there're any current future projects for the Scream franchise apart from the mini-season they're giving the MTV show just to end it; not sure there should be either.

And I loved Scream 3. Equally shitty movies, just a matter of personal taste. The first Scream was a very good horror movie, though. The second was decent.

Scream (1996) will always be the best. Scream 3 (2000) turned out to be better than Scream 2 (1997). Scream 4 (2011) was meh. It's like they waited too long to make a fourth installment.
I have no opinion of Scream: The TV Series (2015 - Present). None of the original actors made an appearance, hence why I never bothered watching it.

I like the first 3 films, didn't like the 4th film. I recently binge watched the tv show, its honestly better than I thought it would be,I am glad I did not listen to those that said it sucked. From what I hear Kevin Williamson, who wrote the movies has no interest in making any movies and actually thinks the show is whats best for Scream. I can understand why people may want a new movie, but at the same time I do agree the show works better in some parts.
Edit:The TV Series and Movies are not connected, there are few nods and allusions to the movies in the series.

I really like the first Scream. I watched it as a teen and I've loved it ever since, it gets a lot of things 'right'. Williamson's writing is great and very rewatchable. Scream 2 is a decent sequel, the 'chase' scenes towards the end with Neve remind me that I'm watching a Wes Craven film. I can't really explain it but I feel as though a real trademark of Craven was tension during a chase, few came close to his ability in that area. The 3rd and 4th movies are watchable IMO. I'm actually enjoying the TV series, I might be in the minority here, but for what it was trying to be, I would say it's... good... It was never going to reach the level of the first movie, but for a teen TV horror show I don't really think there's anything better. It's leagues above Pretty Little Liars. Sure the second season dragged on and the finale of season 2 was logical but disappointing for me. The Halloween special was ok. I'm looking forward to season 3 with a new cast/setting. Williamson has still got it.

The first movie was amazing, second was good, third is easily the worst and the fourth was just ok.

The first is always going to be the best for me, it was almost perfect and brought something new to the table at the time and gave the horror genre a kick up the backside at the time, i would then say for me personally, it goes 1>2>3>4 in terms of how i rate the films, but i enjoyed them all, just the first and second were better than 3 and 4 in my opinion
4 could have been so much better and i don't think I'm alone in thinking that they were going to setup a new trilogy and for me, that meant they needed to kill off at least 2 of the main 3 characters from the original trilogy, but that didn't happen and having all 4 make it was more than a little disappointing, they had some good characters that could have gone forward and made a decent trilogy
I think i would have liked them to end it with Jill killing Sidney at the end and having the killer escape and Jill not unmasked, they could have had Kirby and the other guy (Charlie's best friend, i forget his name as i right this) survive as well, but neither realising that Jill is the killer, this could have set up the next film and i think it would have been shocking enough and something different, to have people come back for at least one more film and maybe two if they did the 5th right
But that didn't happen and as far as i can see, the series is pretty much done, film wise anyway
As for the TV show, i kind of liked it, but at the same time, i think they missed a great opportunity, the killer reveals were a little disappointing, especially the second season, it seemed like they changed the second killers ID from season 1 in the second season and spent a long time trying to justify that and the actual second killer's identity that they went with, well it was disappointing and done a little poorly, the way the killer goes from good/survivor to the killer is a little cringeworthy and overacted
So yeah, the tv show could have worked, but it needed to be handled a lot better than it was in my opinion

I love the first three. I saw them all in theaters and thought each one was well written and loved the twists.

Scream 4 is essentially a middle finger at remakes, hence this ending. A Scream 5 with a killer as the protagonist might have been interesting, but overall I'm happy with what we got. It seemed like that because that's what happened. The original showrunner had season 1's partner as Audrey, but they brought in new showrunners for s2, and even then, who it turned out to be wasn't their first choice.
