One thing that irritates me is when people in a group get murdered without knowing that others have been murdered. So say there are 8 people in a group. And the slasher murders 4 and still 4 others don't know. I don't like it. I want everyone to be scared before getting killed. Some movies take too long to let it be known to all characters in danger that they are in danger. What's worse is when someone is killed in one shot without even seeing his murderer and feeling the dread. Like that guy on the boat in the remake of Friday the 13th. The killer shot an arrow through him and he died just like that.

Actors or actresses who cannot or will not act terrified convincingly. Once in awhile, I stumble upon some great acting in horror, but it's the exception, not the rule. I love a great screamer! I don't know many women that can scream like a horror movie character, not that I've made them scream, personally! Not like that anyway...

Agree. While I can understand negative endings in serious art movies, I usually see horror movies with intent to see the villain dead by the end. But there are stupid characters as you just mentioned who wouldn't finish off their jobs and eventually get killed. Such people really annoy the hell out of me. Friday the 13th (2009) for instance depicts two idiots who bring a wounded person (probably they assumed dead) to throw in the lake and it backfires. I say why won't you kill the person for sure and why won't you run away from deadly crime scene than take the body of the villain with you? What idiots.

Unrealistic death scenes. Being knifed in the stomach won't render someone immediately dead.

When all signs for safety point towards Saskatchewan, and 'Ding a Ling Blonde, no. 3' makes a beeline for the South Pole.

When someone tells a character be careful.
Just for once I want someone to reply, I intend to be as reckless as I possibly can.

That one person that doesn't believe the protagonist about what is actually going on.

Overly hysterical people. Please panic quietly. A good example is The Descent, i spent most of the film wishing they would just shut up and stop screaming

Teens/young people ruining the ambiance of fear/horror by giggling and using their phones throughout a movie. I'm sure everyone would agree, but that's not really an answer to the question.

I agree about not finishing the killer off when they have the chance. Or the reverse - they actually DO murder the sh*t out of the killer, only it turns out to be an innocent person the killer switched outfits with. Wrong Turn 4 pissed me off to no end when it did both.
I hate the ol' mirror cabinet jump scare.
There not being a cell phone signal apparently anywhere on Earth. I get cell phones pose a problem to modern horror movies, but let's be a little more creative in writing them out, like You're Next did.

Not double tapping. There’s usually an instance where one of our protagonists gets the killer or one of the killers in a vulnerable position and instead of making sure they’re done for they just run away or do some other stupid thing.
