Even if they excavated that Chapel's floor, do you think they will tell you the truth?

The Ancient Egyptian Treasure "Discovered" in The Grand Canyon in 1909...
Was it real?
Many recent discoveries throughout the world, in just the last couple of decades, have suggested that many ancient cultures were in existence much further back in time, than previously believed, and many of those where in fact traveling throughout the world...
And yes, it is believed that some of them, may have visited North America...
If a discovery of such "magnitude" had been discovered in the Grand Canyon....TODAY... It would probably, just end up being another notation to add to Today's History Books...
But, if this information was made widely known to the world in 1909... Could it have shattered our society at the time?
If the answer is yes, then there probably was a cover up...
IF...it was covered up, I think it is time for the truth to be known!

If... There are really "Lost" Cosmonauts still flying through space...
...They should be remembered for their sacrifices...
Their missions should not be covered up and forgotten!
"First Man"... on the moon?
What about these brave and women, who never made it there, and the world doesn't even know about?
Where's THEIR Story?

Who was the man in the iron mask?
What happened to his remains? I would have to dig up in my library and come back another day (it's getting late for me) with the info but it seems he would have been a nobody and was buried. Overall the idea is the prison warden wanted to make a name for himself or get back to a prestigious rank and chose one of the prisoner and built a story around him.
I'll come back with the details later. It's in a book from Larousse about mysteries from France. The Beast of Gévaudan is also talked about but *spoiler* it seems no one really know what it was despite an abnormally large wolf being killed (the slaughter continued after the wolf was taken down).

Interesting. However, they say that "TMITIM" was transferred from prison to prison; landing in the Bastille in his last days. Records?
Sad about the wolves.

Small mystery, nothing major, but I wonder if anyone here might be interested in researching it, even if just by way of the ’net. (If so, please let me know.) I wrote down an old Boston Harbor legend here. I noted, “Unfortunately, while George’s Island in Boston Harbor does have ghost stories and legends (so much so that an early commanding officer had to put out an order that soldiers there couldn’t use ‘ghosts’ as an excuse for leaving their posts), this particular one was made up by local historian Edward Rowe Snow, after many people had asked him if there were a ghost story on George’s Island. Oh well! Great story, though.” That is indeed what the park rangers now tell you at George’s Island, but I’ve found some interesting pieces of information that suggest the story may be older than Snow’s telling. At the end of his account, Snow writes, “Warrant Officer Richard Kurth composed a group of Black Widow waltzes which were inspired by the ghost of the lady of the black robes.” If you look it up, you’ll see that there was a Warrant Officer Richard Kurth stationed on George’s Island, and he did compose a “Black Widow” waltz—in 1941, three years before Snow published his book. I don’t know, however, if Kurth indeed wrote them about the ghost-story—that’s what I’d need to research—but if so then it suggests that Snow did not in fact invent the story from whole cloth after all. One more thing. Ever since I first heard the legend, I’ve been skeptical about the rangers’ assertion that Snow just made it up and passed it off as fact. Snow never did that before or since in his books, and while he told a lot of legends he was always sure to say they were legends, probably untrue (as he did with the lady in black story in The Romance of Boston Bay). I’ve now read a good amount of Snow, and if he were trying to pass a story he’d made up off as fact, it’d be remarkably out-of-character and motiveless. I’m starting to be more and more inclined that the story was in fact based on an older legend, though it’s indisputable that the events that occurred in the story did not actually happen.

If interested, I recommend The Secret Token. There have been theories for years that the Lumbee Indians, a state-recognized tribe in North Carolina, many of whom are fair-haired and blue or grey-eyed, are the descendants of the Lost Colony members, who abandoned their failing enterprise to co-habit with the Croatan tribe. Although the Lumbees themselves have dropped that theory, it still persists in the region even now. en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Lumbee
