There is now even more embarrassing news for "Solo". "Ant-Man and the Wasp", the third and lowest grossing Marvel film this year, has now passed "Solo" domestically. Not only that, "Ant-Man and the Wasp" has more than doubled the "Solo" foreign box office take. All told, the smallest Marvel film of 2018 (pun intended) has outgrossed "Solo" by more than $200 million.

The important thing is how each movie compared to its respective budget. Per Variety:
The Marvel sequel — starring Paul Rudd and Evangeline Lilly — opened with $76 million from 4,206 North American locations. That start is significantly ahead of the original “Ant-Man,” which debuted with $57 million in 2015...
With a production budget around $162 million, “Ant-Man and the Wasp” looks like another win for Marvel.
Analysts project “Solo” could end its run with approximately $400 million to $450 million in revenues (NOTE: it currently sits at $393 million), a dreadful result for a film that cost at least $250 million to produce and $150 million to promote.
